West MI support/coffee time on Tuesday

We had another nice coffee meet-up! A new face for Eileen and I to meet - Kim - a DS buddy of Jodie R's. It is so wonderful seeing people who are so happy with their WLS. It helps so much hearing how people made it thru their post op diet and what they are doing currently. Late last week my DH was changed to a different job (within the same plant) and was put on days (Yay for my sanity!!). That is why I ended up taking my kids - and that didn't go so good. You win some, you lose some..... (Sorry, ladies!!)  Anyway - That was my last day time setting up the day time meeting (for a while at least). It is a small intimate group that I hope someone can take over.  I know I REALLY appreciated having others available during the day since evening support groups were not possible for me to make. Thanks to everyone who ventured out for the meet-up! I hope you guys can still meet up from time to time. Gwen

It was good to see you and Jodi again and to meet Kim. It's hard to organize these things; I tried to organize get-togethers in the past and had people tell me they were coming, only to have four or five show up (instead of the 12 I had reserved for). After awhile, you give up. But let's try to meet again next month. I'll try to remember to post to see who shows up. It's nice to talk and see what other people are doing, even though you three are relative "newbies" ... it's good to hear your stories and see how you are coping ... reminds me to get back on the track so I don't fall off the wagon.  Your children, although sometimes a little boisterous, are very cute. It was a pleasure to see them. They settled down fairly nicely.

I don't know if it is too close to your last get together, but I am in Grand Rapids infrequently and would love a chance to meet some of you. Gwen< I "partially" served as an angel, confidant, informant about procedures and would certainly love to meet you) my guess it you don't look like your avator(the one with the dog.) I have a procedure at MMPC on the 11th of July in the afternoon, so I need to be there by 1:00(1:15-1:30) in my book). if anyone is available that day who would like to meet at a location along 28th street, I can be in the area by 11:00 am/just need to have a drive with me for the ride home(probably my 15 year old son.) I will pass this message on to some "older members" of another site and maybe we could have a large group meeting. Let me know I know I always love to meet new people and get motivated when I see others' success. AmyH(wigglypoo)
