Hi Erin!  Welcome to this fun journey.  I had my surgery with Dr. G on Feb 25, 2008.  He is a wonderful surgeon.  The HF program is wonderful also.  After the 4hr presentation make sure you sign up on the yahoo board they will tell you about.  That is where most of the HF folks hang out.  You will get great support from us :)  I had HAP HMO, so I can't help you out with BCBS.  The support staff at HF will help you with what ever you need.  Good luck.

Welcome!

I would call BCBS and ask them what your policy covers. Although in general they may have a set policy, if you are covered through an employer policy, they may have other restrictions. Some who have BCBS may be able to walk you through the process they went through, but they can't tell you for sure if your policy covers WLS.

Good luck!!!!

Thanks!!

I did make a call to BCBS.  My employer does cover the surgery.  BCBS is suppose to be sending me something in the mail with needed info on what needs to be done to get approved.  Fingers crossed!
