Michigan Support Group!!!

Greetings Everyone!!

I am excited to announce a new OH support group here in Michigan. I have just completed my OH certification and I am developing the schedule and format as I type. The meeting will be held weekly in Novi MIchigan at the Life Time Fitness facility in their education center. There will be a weekly focused topic featuring guest speakers from the Detroit Metro market. Join us in continued education and continued wellness. The weekly meeting will offer the option of weighing in and the option of participating in planned events and exursions. Rumor has it there is a weekend getaway in the works for October to travel to Los Angeles and sweat to some oldies....yes, that is a hint :)

What day of the week and what time would the meetings be?

I am currently considering Wedneday evenings from 6:30-8:00. I am also considering Saturday mornings due to the request of many who have families that occupy their time during the evenings during the week. I have also had Saturday requested due to the fact that there is a lot of interest from people traveling a 45 min to 60 min distance. I was thinking on Saturday from 9:30am-11:00.

What are your thoughts? I am open to opinions!!!

Luckily, my work schedule is pretty flexible, so any evening or Saturday morning would work for me. On the plus side, if I go ahead and purchase the Lifetime Membership I was considering getting, I can take advantage of the child care if needed!

GREAT!! I actually work at Life Time in Novi. If you are thinking about joining ( which you should...the club is AMAZING...I have done all my fitness work here. I have a couple of incredible trainers that will help you target your goals with your surgery in mind) call me at the club in Novi. I am putting together a special membership offer for OH members!!!

Have you thought about rotating the times.....one week do it on Wednesday night and the next do it on a Saturday?

That is a great idea Benda! I had not thought of that...I was actually thinking of running two groups, pending on the interest level...but that is a great idea!

That's how our U of M support group works....so if you can't go to one you can come to the other.

Personally, I would come to the Saturday meetings because I work out at the Canton Lifetime Saturday afternoons anyway.  I would just switch locations that day.

I am...I am actually piloting a new program with them and involving Bariatrics. I speak for OH at the natinal conferences, I was just in PA this weekend. I am currently studying for my personal training certification and group exercise certification. After my surgery I joined a gym and worked with a trainer and I 100% believe it has been a huge part of my success. I am 3 years post op. I have not had plastics. ..yet. I have a couple of things I am interestedin exploring down the road, but I want to get my body in the best state possible naturally before I take it to that level.

I work at the Novi Life Time...stop and say hi sometime!!! I am typically in the club on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday if I am not traveling.

I like the idea of rotating between Saturday and a weeknight.  I like Wednesdays though because I have other commitments for most Saturdays.
