Eastpoint / Detroti support group needed

Hi all.  I need a support group to help me through.  I live in eastpoint Mi / Detroit Mi.  Does anyone know any?

There is a church in Roseville that has support meetings for the lapband, and probably for other weight loss surgeries as well.   It's a Lutheran church on Little Mack at the corner of Frasho. 
My sister had the lap band and I can find out more info on the support group there if you need me to.

I'm not sure if there is a lap band support group in the Detroit area. Check on the michigan lap band board  or yahoo for a michigan lap band group. The hospital that your surgery should have a open support group, I know Port Huron Hospital still has a lap band meeting every month! Good Luck!

ABMI in Madison Heights has support groups that I think you can go to.  They are the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 6 PM.  Also starting this month 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 3 to 5 PM.

What is ABMI and where is it located? Jay and I are looking for a support group and we live in Madison Heights so this would be great.

Have you been to one of their meetings? Are there many post-ops there?

Mel,

It's Dr. Woods and Taylor's group.  I usually go to all of their meetings and there are postops there.  They are in the process of setting up a daytime group so they can be of better service to post ops.

I don't know if I will be there tomorrow night or not.  I'm in Grand Rapids waiting for my brother to be admitted for a new round of chemo.  He's supposed to be admitted tomorrow but I don't know the time

Thank you!!  I know where that church is but the only problem is that I work afternoons Monday thru Friday 2-10pm.  Are there any Saturday meetings that you know about?
