MMPC people - Did you get your letter???!!
When I spoke with Dr. Foote about this at my 2 week post op, he said nothing additional would be paid. I paid a "down payment" covering surgeon, food and post op exams. I think physicians are getting tired of all the crap it takes to remain associated with mmpc. My primary doc is part of an mmpc group in Holland (mmpc North), and they are breaking from mmpc also.
I will have to let my friend know that Todd is going along...that was the first thing she said! He is fun. They are all good. Dr. Gawel is staying, no great loss to me, I didn't hit it off with her anyway. I thought Dr. White was coming along.

Got my letter today. If the center of excellence goes with the surgeons then I will assume that our insurances will go with them. I believe my authorization says Dr. Kemmeter. I am going to pull mine out and see. I do not want to stay with MMPC I want to go with Dr. Kemmeter. I guess I will call the insurance company and see what they say.

Here is the link on Jeffrey Gawel. It doesnt look like he has any experience with bariatrics or even gastroentology (sp??).

The Center for Bariatric Excellence with follow the doctors as it is based on the doctor's experiences, it will not stay with MMPC. The same for participating in insurance. They sign individual contracts with the doctor's and sometimes the "group". From what I have found out they will par with Priority Health. My guess is that the new office will becomse the insurance companie's new choice for their designated "Center of Excellence." Especially considering no one left has actual bariatric surgery experience.
I think in the long run it will all work out. I think there may be a few bumps along the way, but we are use to that
