Looking for a good support group

Hi All,

I'm looking for a good support in or near the Waterford area.  I'm having my surgery at Hurley and I know that Hurley bariatric has a support group but it's an hour away.  I would like to go to one a little closer to home.

Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen -

I also had my surgery with Dr. Farhan.  I work in Waterford (live in Saginaw) and hit the Flint support groups each month -- both the Hurley one and the Flint peer-based one.  I also lead the group that's based in Bay City/Saginaw.

I heard there's the one being held by a member here at the Lifetime Fitness center somewhere in the area (Bloomfield Hills maybe?) -- can't remember the details but if you search back through the posts for a couple months ago you might find the details.

If you hear of any other ones that are held on a weekday evening, let me know.. I'd love to join a group down here that I can hit after work.

If you'd like a visitor while you're in the hospital, let me know and I can stop by and say hi while you're at Hurley.  I can take you for a walk and make sure you're sip, sip, sipping...  :-)

Pam

This is my first time writing, but I've been lurking around for a several years.
I had the VSG done on July 1st  by Dr. Pleatman and he has a support group at St. Joseph Hospital/Pontiac once a month.
Check out his web site http://laparoscopy.com/pleatman/  under Info Sessions.

Then call Adele in the office to find out more info.

Good luck on your surgery.
