Not sure what location you are needing, but 3 years ago when I had surgery, Hurley was a center of excellence. It's in Flint. Tina

There is one in Grand Rapids called Grand Health Partners (thanks Pat!) and it is affiliated with Blodgett- Spectrum Health hospitals.

Last I knew there was not one in the Lansing area.

The one in Grand Rapids is "Grand Health Partners" formerly this group of surgeons were at MMPC, but have their own facility now.
There are four surgeons and all are equally fantastic.

I will add to Pat's post, that two of surgeon's at GHP perform all four of the most common WLS: DS / RnY / Lapband / VSG.

Not all COE offer all the options.

Highest Known Weight = 370# / 59.7 bmi @ 5'6"
Current Weight = 168# / 26.4 bmi : fluctuates 5# either way @ 5'7" / more than 90% EWL
Normal BMI (24.9) = 159#: would have to compromise my muscle mass to get here without plastics, so this is not a goal.

McLaren Bariatric Institute in Flint has recently received their Center of Excellence standing. I had my RNY on 11/19/08 and couldn't be more pleased with the preparation, the surgery, and the care I've received from McLaren. My surgeon was Dr. Dabideen and I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Kia as well. The support staff is outstanding. The phone number for he Bariatric office is 810-342-5470.
