6 Days Post Surgery
Hi all, I am new to this forum I just had my surgery last Tuesday and am feeling pretty good. I am having a bit of a problem getting my 1200 calories in per day but have, at least for the last couple of days got my 60 grams of protein in.
I have a question for the group, I will be traveling to Seattle the 2nd week in January and was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on eating while on the road. The hotel I will be staying at has a stove, refrigerator, microwave and such so I should be able to make most of my own meals.
Any tips anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
I have lost 48 pounds since I started the liquid diet and 7 since the surgery. Yeah!!!!!!

I'm glad you're feeling well, and your weight loss is great! Isn't it fun??
Although we have the same tummy now, I have a different intestinal anatomy with the DS, and we have different surgeons. So, if your surgeon's practice hasn't given you the guidelines for what you should be eating (which, they really should have, and I would recommend following these), you may want to head over to the VSG forum where more VSG folks hang out.
Also, hopefully, Kelly H. will stop by with some tips for you. She had the VSG about three months ago, and has been very successful. You can visit her profile and PM her if she doesn't respond to this post.

Highest Known Weight = 370# / 59.7 bmi @ 5'6"
Current Weight = 168# / 26.4 bmi : fluctuates 5# either way @ 5'7" / more than 90% EWL
Normal BMI (24.9) = 159#: would have to compromise my muscle mass to get here without plastics, so this is not a goal.

Thanks for the encourgement, I am really pleased with my progress so far. I have an appointment with the dietician tomorrow and I am going to get her help on how to handle the eating difficulties that come from having to travel.
I will certainly check out the VSG forum and even drop Kelly a message.
Thanks!
