Good Friday Morning!

How did you start your day?  I started with oatmeal and blueberries . . oh so good!

I have been on afternoons for the last week so haven't gotten here in the morning, painting my living room I am about half way done, good thing I am alone because it's a mess.

QOTD - What's up for the weekend?

I am planning on walking a race Saturday morning and working afternoons for the rest of the weekend . . of course there will be as much football watching as I can get in.

Have a good weekend!

Morning all,

Just finished my protein shake and vit's, then on to iced tea in an hour.

Well I didn't see any flakes today did you?  And I mean the ones that fall from the sky :).

Q:  Not much, preparing for winter, we had 5 cords of wood delivered yesterday, so we'll be stacking it, putting the flowers that finally died in the compost, putting away the outdoor furniture.....fun stuff :`(.

Strange day at work already, my boss's Dad is undergoing triple bypass as I type this and my transcriptionist just got a call that her Grand baby is on his way today, isn't that just life, quirky.

Stay warm,

Edie

Kristy -

Oh My! Painting your living room sounds like a nightmare. I've seen your liviing room, so I know how much work that involves. Just taking down all your cool stuff and getting to the walls is a huge undertaking alone. Good luck!

I keep forgetting to eat breakfast. So here it is 10:45 and I'm just now grabbing my yogurt. I keep trying to rearrange my morning food routine, but I can't seem to find something that works and won't cause a blood sugar crash. But if I forget to eat at 10am, then around 11:30 I'm dying of hunger and can't make it until lunch at 1:00.  So need to do some figuring on what I can do to make it work better.

QOTD -- I'll be at the race tomorrow morning too. I'm so excited to have so many folks from the Bay City Support Group doing this race together. We'll freeze our butts off, but it'll be fun anyway. The rest of the weekend will be devoted to homework assignments and continuing to edit my book. Plus my blog needs some attention - I've got several articles in the works and want to get some stuff finished for posting next week. So I'll be sitting in front of my computer all weekend.

Have a good one all!

Good afternoon!

At my daughters today - had my TT scar revision, so breakfast was at 11am.. Was an egg/ham/cheese burrito smothered in gravy. Yes, its not my best choice, but I was HUNGRY!! And I ate like 3 bites... lol

I'm laying low this weekend - won't be doing much of anything. Heading home tomorrow.

Traverse City had 2" of snow last night (son texted me) and more falling. That Lake Effect stuff again.
I'm NOT ready for it..

I had to go to the office today - normally I work from home on Fridays, but with the new job, I had an important meeting.  I had two of the protein donuts I made from eggface's recipe and then a biggby non-fat, sugar free, 1/2 caf vanilla latte.  Had a headache, so needed some caffeinne.  I stopped by to see a friend on my way to work at home after the meeting and it was great.  I haven't seen him in 6 months and he didn't know I had surgery!  Then after I finished working, got my son off to go camping with the Boy Scouts - they are up in Alger this weekend at Cole Canoe base - he's going to freeze his buns off.  Didn't take any long underwear.  Oh well, hi is almost 15 and is old enough to pack for himself!  Went to dinner with my hubbie.  Going to see a local play tomorrow night - CInderalla.  The lead is class with my almost 15-year old.   I might try some holiday recipes this weekend to test them out.  I found a sugar free pumpkin gooey butter cake, but it calls for a sweetener I"ve never had before, so I thought I'd try it first.

Sorry about the long ramble, but it is kind if nice to spill here in the Michigan forum where there aren't as many people as on the main RNY board.  Hope you are all well, and yes, I saw some flakes tonight.

Hi Everyone,

Yep, I'm late as usual in replying.

I am getting very mixed up with my meals lately and I'm not getting enough protein. I try to make sure I have at least an additional protein drink in the morning to supplement the protein I 'should' be getting in the rest of the day. It's almost like I've forgotten how to eat or what things have protein. Whew!

This morning I had my protein drink and then drove to Grand Blanc to shop at a Kroger store which doubles coupons up to $1.00. I spent $55.00 for $165.00 worth of stuff. It was fun; the first time I tried an all out coupon trip. So I got home at 4:30 and had a couple pieces of pizza, minus crust... still wasn't very good for me. I'm trying to think of what protein to eat after I digest the yogurt I had after dinner.

Well, you probably didn't wan a play by play of my dietary problems!

I mentioned last week I was having pains in my stomach. I have since had every test in the world including an endoscopy and everyone seems to agree it is gastritis. I am upping my acid reducer and it is helping some. As a result of my blood tests, my iron and protein are also low (which explains my preoccupation with protein). I'm also taking liquid iron now.

This weekend, I plan to relax if possible. Our shih tzu, Sophie, had puppies on October 9th. They are getting a little older now and need to be weaned in the next two weeks. It's quite a job keeping track of all their needs. They are awfully cute though!

Sorry about the post. Maybe I should post more often and they would be shorter!

Hope everyone is doing well and prayers to all who need them.

Sandi,

I'm a bit concerned with you, are you taking your B's sublingually daily?  That can help with confusion (forgetting what foods have protein).  As for protein do you have any specific questions???  Something you can do with your yogurt is add Kashi Go Lean Crunch, it actually has protein, adds volume which helps with feeling full :), yea all the way around!

If I need fast protein I stick with 'meats', turkey roll ups with laughing cow cheese, refried beans with melted cheese, burgers, steak....(I'm usually a bit anemic so I stick with red meat) then, yogurt w/ go lean crunch,  vege burger w/ melted cheese and of course protein shakes.

Again, don't wonder what you should be doing, ask, that's why were all here, to help each other.

Edie

and btw, if you have pics of the pup's I'd love to see them, I love puppies :)
oh also, are you having C with your iron?, it helps with absorption.
