Need a shoulder to cry on please.....

I don't know where to start. Most of you know me well enough to know when I post, I speak from the heart, and most of the time, I try to be as helpful as possible. Now in my own life, I have a dilemma I'm faced with and I have uncertainty as to what to do. On May 11, 2006 at 2pm, I see Dr. Mark Komorowski, MD., Plastic Surgeon in Bay City, MI. It is my first meeting with him for my "chest" work I need done due to the excess skin, sand bags, etc. I have 2 referral letters - one from my PCP and one from my Chiropractor. His office said pending approval from insurance I could be in surgery within 3-4 weeks. I'm open to any hospital since I want this done prior to my Father's Memorial Service on July 8, 2006. My dilemma: I HAVE NO ONE WHO CAN TAKE ME, STAY WITH ME THERE, OR BRING ME HOME TO MOUNT PLEASANT AND STAY WITH ME A FEW DAYS. What do I do now? I spoke to my Mother and I would rather cancel the surgery entirely if she is even near me. We literally got into an arguement over her more important schedule and that the surgeon would need to accomodate her schedule, yet I am the one who works and has limited time available. I thought about cancelling this 100 percent for lack of support. And I'm totally lost. Help? What would you do? What could you offer? Should I just forget this and have a bad back the rest of my life? It was more of a nightmare having WLS in July, when 2 weeks before my surgery date, my former friend who had planned to stay with me, backed out and left me in a LURCH and I was in hysteric tears on the phone with anyone to get support and it took me a few days to get my best friend up here. However, she can't help on this one, she now has two toddlers under the age of 6 and it's not going to be convenient. Any thoughts would be helpful...I'm just feeling teary eyed and down and ready to just give it up. Sorry to be whining....But I need to speak the truth and I literally feel hopeless. Hi Stacey, I work in Bay City. Do you want to do lunch when you come for your appointment? Maybe we could figure something out for your dilemma. I work 6 days a week but maybe we can figure something out. Do you have my cell number? If not email me. I am sure it will work itself out. What kind of work are you having done? If it is just a reduction and lift, It isn't bad at all. I had one several yrs ago and had no pain with it. Because they aren't messing with the muscles it isn't bad at all! Now if you are getting inplants that is a whole other story. Well let me know. ----Toni

Hey Stacey, I might be able to help you out. E-mail me or Toni and I could meet you for lunch also. I have a pretty flexible schedule and I have a sister who lives in Mt. Pleasant. I also have a couple of friends who have gone to Dr. Komorowski and had some work done. Alirae

Stacey, you can also hire a nurse to help you out. There are plenty of in-home nursing services that offer these types of services. They will drive you to and from the appointment and take care of you for the day, stop in the next day, etc. When I had my BL, reduction, and Augmentation, I did need help for several days...but mostly on the first day. Then again, the augmentation is what required it (under the muscle). The lift and reduction were virtually painless. Good luck!!

I would rather skip the surgery altogether than hire a nurse. KEVIN PHILLIPS HAS OFFERED TO BE MY NURSE!!! WHO NEEDS TO HIRE A NURSE WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THAT HANDSOME STUF MUFFIN TO CART YOUR BONEY BUTT AROUND MICHIGAN?????
