I have had the band for 3.5 years. I have had problems for 2.5. My port has tipped and put
down major scare tissue that makes it hurt when they try to fill/unfill. I am in the process of fighting to get it replaced with a sleeve. My sister and daughter both decided on a sleeve instead of a band after watching me. The are both doing great. My dd is two years out and
has done so much better and she is much worse about things than I am. My sister a year
out is kicking sleeve butt. She is training for the Crimm 10 mile walk. I am so pround of her.

The night time is hardest for me too. The band has made it worst as You can't get anything down until late afternoon.
I have started journaling everything I eat on a website and coming here to read. If needed I
have the TV on too. I try keeping my hands busy typing. Can't eat than. And seeing what is going into my mouth adding up makes it real.
Doing this has really help keep me from doing big damage at night. Finally started to get
some of the regain from being unfilled a couple times back off.

On one of the earlier threads it was announced that there would be a Support Group meeting in Brooklyn, Michigan on July 11. I would really like to attend this meeting if it is still taking place. If anyone knows for sure please respond to this thread. Thank you for your help !!!

Hello! Glad to hear that your process is moving right along. I am set to see my surgeon on Thursday and then the process begins to gather insurance information and submit it. after much research and prayer, I am going with the VSG (sleeve). I feel this is the best option for me and what I feel comfortable with and that is what it is about: what do you feel comfortable. Hopefully your surgeon can gudie you through this decision but the final call is yours. Do what is best for you and your goals.
