Surgery Tomorrow.....
Hey everybody! I am finally here in New Orleans and had my work-up appointments at Oschers yesterday! Dr. Richardson was very nice although he is super busy, and he told me that he thought that I was a very good canidate for this surgery! He will do the Roux n Y, and agreed with me that it was the best approach as the stats indicate that it is one of the most successful surgeries overall with the fewest problems! I am a bit nervous, but have been through more invasive surgeries than this so hopefully everything will be great.
I have to go back to Oschner today to meet with the anthesia people and find out where I am on the surgery schedule. You know thanks to all of you and your very good information, most everything they told me I already knew. The Psych was interesting, he did ask a lot of questions, the test was one that I had taken a couple of times before. (In grad school the psych dept would have studies and ask for volunteers to do those things and do interviews and tapes. I brought the kids one time and they taped us looking at different pictures and talking about them, I think that they are still using that training video! But overall there are embeded questions to measure depression and psychosis. I was a bit startled when he asked me if I had ever thought about suicide! Killing someone else yes, but that no!!!!! lol!!!! Kidding of course!
My cell phone number is 504-329-1481, and Vick (my daughter) is 985-960-0610 if you want to call. We have nextel so can do page also I think. Vick will post on the board after my surgery if you are interested in how I am doing.
Yay Cheryl! I'm so excited for you! Hope the plane trip wasn't too bad. It took me 18hr to get to England from here with layovers and stuff and I thought if I saw another plane I'd scream I dont' even want to know how long it takes to get to Hong Kong hehe. Anyways my prayers are with you for a swift recovery and nice gentle move to becoming a LOSER! hehe
Huggles and love,
Keli
