We barely made it out alive.. But we are here... DEVASTATED!!!
Hi Karen
I have been in a tornado that destoyed the mobile home I lived in before I was married. I thought I was going to die, and I was just praying to God that I didn't.. but going through that tornado was nothing compared to what you experienced. My brother lives in Hattiesburg, his house was very damaged from Katrina. I have never in my life seen anything as powerful as that storm was. I am so glad that your family made it when so many others didn't. I will keep you in my prayers.

What an amazing story. The hand of God was definately protecting you and your family through this ordeal. Everytime I think of it I'm amazed that you were all able to escape "unharmed". I pray that you will continue to be blessed. I'm sure this board will come through for you! You hang on to your faith, and keep that inspiring attitude that you have!
I feel stronger just e-knowing you!

My name is Jennifer and I live in Baltimore,Maryland. I was absolutely devastated to hear about the hurricane and your story brought it even more to life and right away I wanted to help. I gathered 2 friends and knew they would be as passionate about this as myself and right away we began brainstorming. We decided to load our stuff up in a uhaul and drive out to Houston or/and Louisiana stopping at Mississippi along the way. We have a great deal of things we have accumulated our on own and still waiting for more things from our friends and family. The only problem we have will be where to take the things? I don't know how to find out who needs the supplies the most. If you can be of any help at all please contact me A.S.A.P. I want to be sure our items go where they are needed the most because I have read and seen on TV that many people are still going without basic necessities. That to me is unexceptable. May God bless you and each and everyone affected by this. We our coming to help anyway we can!

p.s. we even were trying to see if we may be able to take in a family but have no idea how to even go about such a thing. Any i fo you have about those you may know that need help please please let me know.
Hi Jennifer,
I would like to suggest that you contact the American Red Cross. They are doing a great job with distributing much needed supplies to the people in the coastal areas. I lost my house but feel very blessed that my husband is Active Duty Air Force, and that the base here is taking very good care of us. Karen posted her address in another one of the posts yesterday, if there is anything that you have that could be sent to her it would be greatly appreciated by all of us.
Thanks for being such a caring person, in a time like this, we all need to be that way!

Karen,
I do know what you went through. I lived in Biloxi in 69 and survived Camille. I was 10 years old at the time, and it still is the most terrifying experience of my life. I lived on Greater Ave. The railroad tracks were behind our house. I remember walking to school and crossing those tracks. The elementry school, was down on the left. It is DEVSTATING, it is something you will never forget. Your all in my thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Please email me, with sizes. I have alot of clothes I have been packing up to donate, as well as children's clothes (12 months to 4T). I would be happy to mail them to you.

Karen,
I have watched so much on television, and when I read your story I felt as if I were there. You are your family were very lucky. I can not even imagine what all yall have gone through. You are true survivors and your children will always know what a strong person that you are. When the water was rising and the roof was flying off, you were still praying.
What size boy clothes do you need? My son is 12, so I have all sizes...let me know. I will keep you in my prayers in the days to come.
God Bless You
Michelle H.
