I cooked a big lunch after church.  I took chicken breast strips and rolled them in parmesan mixed with a tablespoon or two of flour.  Then I cooked it in the skillet with just a little olive oil.  I steamed some broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.  And I stewed some squash and onions.  We had Sara Lee wheat dinner rolls. Well, I only got 1/2 of a roll as I don't eat bread much.  And in the oven as I type this is a low sugar blueberry pound cake.  And boy does my house smell good.  I can't wait to have a nice warm slice of that for my afternoon snack later.

We will eat simple for dinner.

Topic: Good Morning!! What's cooking this Sunday???

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Sorry I haven't posted a thread in couple of days. I have been busy and have not felt the best (allergies are kicking my rump!). Anywhoo,  what's cooking today guys??? I bought a really nice ham at the grocery yesterday and asked the butcher to cut it into nice thick ham steaks. I plan on grilling one of those for supper tonight. As for the side items, I am not sure what we are having.  I want some grean beans, I am the only one here that will eat them so I know I will be making some other things as well. If I can get my hands on a fresh cucumber, I will marinate some slices...yumyum!! DH will want baked beans (too sweet for me now, I prefer them plain since surgery). If our son and his girlfriend eat here tonight, I will make some twice baked potatoes (they usually eat pizza on Sunday night but I am hoping i can sway them with them ham..teehee). Besides, they went to a concert and ate at Outback last night. He should be broke so free food will probably be very appealing....lol! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hi Jay,
I'm very excited for you that you have decided to have WLS and have chosen Dr. Avara.  I too made the trek down to the Coast.  You will be in good hands, Dr. Avara is a great doctor.  Be sure to follow his instructions and you will do well.

I had my 2-year surgiversary on Friday and go back for my 2-year checkup on the 29th.  Having WLS was one of the best decisions that I've made in my life.  I just wish lap RNY had been around when I was in my thirties.

Best wishes!

you should at least stay one night. We only live once enjoy yourself. High Cotton Grill is a good place to eat. Food is way to much, so share with someone or take a doggie bag for a couple of more meals later. We stayed at the treasure bay casino. They make a fantastic omelet but it is so huge. We went to new orleans and visited the malls, zoo and aquarium had a very nice time but walked my legs off.

with God all things are possible.

Congratulations, Jay!  That is wonderful.  I wish you the best of luck with a smooth and speedy recovery.  Follow your surgeons orders and make the very best out of this second chance for health and happiness.  It is so worth it.

Topic: RE: Hey All, What's Cooking??
My hubby cooked dinner last night.  He bought some fresh shrimp on his way home from work and boiled those babies up.  They were so good.  I did fix some corn and pasta to go with them.  It did feel nice yesterday morning, but it was sure hot by the afternoon.  And my best friend and I went walking last night at about 7:15 thinking it would be nice by then.  No such luck.  We sweated down.  LOL.

There is a support group that meets in Tupelo. I think it meets the first Thursday evening of ech month, 6:30p at the Wellness Center (near the hospital). Don't hold me to that day, I am not certain about it. I have been thinking about attending but have not so far. You can find out more information by calling 662-377-SLIM. Hope this helps.
