I have done the breathing exercises and I seem to be able to do them with no problem.   The breathing is a little better today.   I am going to call dr. office as soon as it open s with additional questions and will defenitely ask them about this.   Thanks.

Topic: RE: Finally moving forward with surgery. I alittle scared.
thank you Pam.  I am at the beginning so I am trying to find out ways to prepare myself for the surgery and learn things I need to get use to. Like I found out no sweet tea I may die. I think I can give up smoking but can I really live without my tea. we will see.  I am working on eating every 2-3 hours now I only eat 2 times a day now so It will be hard for me. I am to busy to meal plan.  I am going to start carrying a lunch bag so it will be easier. The counselor said It will probably be 3 months so I want to be ready and in to habit so it won't be hard I am reading all the diets and after surgery meals and drinks. I hear every doctor is different as to what to do and how to eat. so we'll see. Thanks for your time and your post. If you have a minute tell me about your surgery and your eating style, and vitamins was it hard?  How long has it been?  Thank you again for your time.angie

I have been gone so I just read your post.  It is normal to be really sore the day after surgery.  You should be able to take good breaths though.  I would call my surgeon and let him know how bad the pain is.  He may can give you something different for pain.  We all respond to different medications differently.  What works for one person may not work for another.  Good luck and please come back on here and update us on how you are doing.   Melissa

What type of surgery did you have?  Are you at home already?  Did you do your breathing exercises in the hospital?  They sent the breathing gadget home with me and I continued the exercises several days at home.   You should probably call your doctor. Pam

Hi Angie, Good luck on your journey towards WLS and afterwards.  No matter which type of surgyery/band you choose, it will be worth it.  Just follow the plan that your doctor prescribes and before you know it, you will reach 135. I'm sorry no one has responded to your post.....This board has gotten sooo slow!!  I guess everyone has gotten busy with their lives, especially during the summer. If I can answer any questions, please PM me. Pam
