I have a recipe for Olive Garden Salad dressing.  And it is so good and taste just like the real thing.  I buy all the stuff they put in their salad and then use that dressing and it is just like being at Olive Garden.  But I have gotten lazy.  LOL.  So, now I just stop in at Olive Garden and buy a bottle.  LOL.  I love it.

Jay,

Hang in there. People who have not been there or are not considering "going there" have no clue. They are most of the time uneducated about the surgery/benefits etc.  As Melissa said, people are nosey and believe you me, living in a small town, they are all the time looking for a new topic. Just enjoy the ride of losing weight, remember why you had the surgery and to heck with everyone else and their opinion. Even if it's grandma. I still (at two years out) have a brother in law that loves to make remarks about what I can and cannot eat (like he would know). Aparently he works for the food police and no one told us, because he always looks to see how much food I have on my plate and then after we have eaten he takes a quick glance to see what I have left on my plate. Makes my blood boil but I am learning to push my tongue to the roof of my mouth and keep it closed. It is his ignorance an his problem.

Olive Garden House Dressing

8 ounces Paul Newman's Vinegar and Oil Dressing

1 clove garlic, peeled and minced

1/2 teaspoon Dried basil

1/2 teaspoon Dried oregano

3 packages Sweet and Low −− or 1 tablespoon Sugar

Put ingredients into the bottle of dressing and shake well. Refrigerate 24 hours before using.

I copied this recipe from Gwen on the Ala Board. I have not tried it yet but you better know I am going to!! Olive Garden Dresign is my son's most favorite dressing EVER!!! Mine too...teehee!

You are right, soft foods are to allow the pouch time to heal. There is a lot of swelling for a few weeks and things tend to stick easily. I wouldn't be too concerned with the amount of protein right now.  However,  I would try to get it in every chance I got. It is important to healing, losing weight and prevents hair loss. You are doing SUPER great witht e waater. 48 oz WOW!!!!! Keep up th egood work!

Yum!! I love grilled shrimp! I cooked the chicken I spoke about this morning, butternut squash, steamed cabbage, pinto bean, mac & cheese and corn bread. I ate some steamed cabbage, butternut squash ( I LOVE these with a little butter and a dab of splenda brown sugar. It jsut screams fall to me...lol) and chicken. Hubby and son ate the other foods prepared. Let me know how that wrap turns out. It sounds good.

Hubby bought some fresh shrimp from the coast.  I had grilled shrimp, steamed broccoli, and a wheat roll.  Hubby fried some shrimp and french fries for he and the kids.  They, of course, enjoyed that.

I had him to sautee me some shrimp in the skillet so that I could take them to work tomorrow and make a wrap for lunch.  I bought some low carb tortillas and I think a shrimp wrap will make a tasty lunch tomorrow.  I will let you know how it turns out.

Chin up!  People are nosey.  Just human nature.  You just have to know that you did this for yourself and made an informed decision when you made the choice. So, what others think just really isn't a big deal.  Just ignore and enjoy the ride of losing that weight and getting healthy.

Your body has been through some trauma and pumped full of air and fluids.  It will take a while for all of that to calm down and go away.  Once all of that air and IV fluids is gone, the weight will start to drop.  So, hang in there.  The first couple of weeks post op are the toughest.  If you need to talk or have questions just send me a PM, and I will give you my numbers.  We are here to support you through this.

Don't worry - I know how you feel.  I didn't want my grandma to know about me having the surgery either because I knew she would make a big deal out of it...  then of course she did and all I heard was how wrong this was and I didn't need to do this!  I realized that this is my decision, it is my body and I knew that this is what I HAD to do in order to finally suceed in getting this weight off once and for all.  People were all the time telling me that I didn't need to have the surgery - just go on a diet!  Well, been there done that!  I knew that this was my TOOL, and I by having the surgery I would have no choice but to learn how to eat all over again .  It is a very personal decision and only you know what is best for you!  Just stay positive and keep focused, we are all here for you and have gone through what you are struggling with.  At my heaviest I weight 350 pounds, now two years later I am down to 169 pounds!  This surgery saved my life but yet I still have people tell me "oh I would never do something drastic like that - I would just go on a diet!"  That is fine for them, but I needed more than that!

Wishing you well on your journey......
