Back home from the hospital

Had my RNY on Monday.

Was supposed to be home Wednesday but some of my labs were off so they figured out what was wrong and sent me home yesterday with some more prescriptions.  Things are going well.  Walking every hour and using my Incentive Spirometer every hour.  On a 'diet' of water, herbal tea, broth, and sugar free jello.  No hunger pains.  Pain is much lower today.  Started passing gas on Wednesday and haven't stopped - man that felt good.  Got my drains taken out yesterday morning.  This morning the big news was I had my first bowel movement - it was tiny but real.

Tuesday I go in for some blood labs and a class were we will talk about the next few weeks and have my 'first meal'.

Thanks for your help and support thus far!

ONWARD!

Dan,

I am a week and a half in to the same journey.  I hope everything goes well.

They say on here walk, sip, walk, sip, repeat.  Truer words have never been written.

Good luck!!

That's fantastic! I'm so happy you didn't die! Now the key is to make the surgery worthwhile so do what your doc says and if you have any questions feel free to ask!
