Anthony,

With everything you have been through, I can't believe anything will scare you.  This will be a snap.  Get ready for a wild ride!

Just a quick follow-up... everything has gone well. My surgery ended up taking almost 4 hours due to all the scar tissue from my lap-band, the surgeon wanted to take it slow. I am a little sore, but have been up and at'em, walking up and down the hallway. I passed my swallow test this morning, so I am officially on liquids.

The only issue I am having right now is the inability to urinate after having the cathider removed. I am working on it though, lots of water

Just wanted to let everyone know the surgery went well and I am safe. Looking forward to the journey with you guys!

Hello guys...just wanted to post another update.  I came home Friday, pretty sore, especially from the heporin shots.  The last day or two I developed a severe sore (blister, canker, whatever you want to call it).  One of my lip, which isn't a big deal, but the second on my uvula.  It hurts like heck to drink, swallow, breathe...whatever, but since it is from a virus mised with trauma from the intabation, I just have to let it run its course.  Either way, I am suffering past it and will get by as best as possible.

On to the good news.  I weighed in pre-op at 321lbs, the highest I have been in years.  Weighed myself this morning, 305lbs even, so I am down 16lbs in the first five days.  My doctor has given me cleareance to move onto soft foods on Wednesday, looking forward to the puree'd solids instead of just clear liquids.

My only other complain is that I haven't had a bowel movement since the day before surgery.  I am passing wind, so I dont think there are any issues, but once and a while the gas pumps and and starts to hurt.  I wasn't a regular person pre-op, so I didn't expect much change, but hopefuly I get it out soon.  (TMI?) :)

Anyways, just wanted to update.  Thanks again!

It will take a while for your body to regulate-  besides, you haven't eaten anything.  Don't worry about it unless it causes you pain, or the like.  Sounds like you are doing very well.  Walk and sip, and most of all, enjoy the start of your new life.
