How is it that you came to have 3 surgeries? Did the first 2 not work?? Gosh, I hope to have one surgery period. How do I avoid 3?

I had the sleeve first and it worked great. When trying to lose the last 50 pounds I needed to lost , I could not lost it not even being 95% on plan. I decided to convert to the DS which is actually the second part of the sleeve surgery.

That was number two surgery. Except the surgeon didn't give me a true sleeve. He gave me a hybrid surgery called a SADI or a SIPPS. It gave me side effects I couldldnt live with so I went back to a different surgeon to have that one revised to the correct one. Getting the correct one was number three.

Hi Rodrigovives,

How have you recovered since your surgery? I am considering using Dr Cuevo for a gastric sleeve. I am skeptical as I worry about fraudsters using the internet and not being able to view the facilities in person. You hear so many contradicting opinions of procedures in Mexico.

Regards :)

I finally talked to my patient coordinator, he called me right away once I reached out on FB. I guess I was not calling his direct number. I am once again pleased with Bariatric Mexico and JC the paitent coordinator. I chose to go with Bariatric Mexico because they are located in Cabo San Lucas. My sister and her family have a beach house there and I have been. The location caters to american visitors and Hospital Hospiten is a first class facility.

No I didn't...I just couldn't look past the awful coordinator and the lies on the website. If you have nothing to hide, why lie?

I agree with you. It is my body. Doctors are my advisors not my decision-makers. I fully believe in participatory medicine not patriarchal medicine.

I have Gastric Sleeve scheduled for March with Dr. Gerardo Garcia Alvarez in Cabo San Lucas. I am going through Bariatric Mexico as my facilitator.

I chose Mexico for my upcoming sleeve because I am confident in the quality of services available there. The comparison of prices in Mexico vs. the States is extreme. I have family that lives near the facility that I will receive treatment at and have been assured that it is first class.

I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Alvarez in March. I am going through Bariatric Mexico and the Patient Coordinator JC Urrea. I will keep this post updated as I get closer to my surgery date.

I'm looking in to a mini gastric bypass with Dr. Illan and I can't seem to get much feedback. How are you doing now? Weight loss to date? Did you have the sleeve previously and if so what was your starting weight before the bypass? Sorry for all the question :)
