Just cancelled 2nd paper signing...

I just got out of the hospital from a 10 week stay. As a result I had to cancel my first sceduled date of Jan 25, due to being in the hospital.(well my Mom did for me) I was then scheduled in for Feb 29. I just had to call to cancel today. It was the hardest call I have had to make in a long time. I am so sad, my turn finally came and I can not go yet due to a back problem that was worsened due to my weight. How ironic is that! I just got out of the hospital last tuesday. I just found out I have 2 badly herniated disks that are pressing on the nerves of my bladder, bowels, and left leg. (sciatic nerve) As a result I am temporarally paralysed in left leg, bladder and bowels urges are gone, "numb". I only got out of the hospital after begging. I had to come to my parents house because they have a bungalow and my step-father is retired so home a lot. We had to get all the equipment they reccomended, including a hospital bed. We got it all and then they released me. I am so glad to be out!! It makes you crazy being in that long You want to know the most frustrating part...they think it will heal when I lose some more weight!!!! I had to cancel again because there is no way I could be in the for a 7 hour drive, even if we stopped every hour. I was made to come home from hospital by an ambulance! So in the meantime I am trying to lose weight on my own to get better! His secretary told me I will automatically be sceduled for every paper signing group until I can come! So that it good. Maybe I will be able to make it to the next one. It will be in April because they are not having one in March. Good luck to those of you who are moving a head, hopefully I will be soon too. Ohh Krista I am soooo sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling a bit better and you dont quit girl... I know this is very hard emotionally and physically, but you need to take care of yourself more now than ever. Don't loose focus. Focus is the most important thing u have to do. Beleive and see yourself loosing the weight and having the surgery. It will happen .. take care and keep us posted on how you are doing Angela

Krista , I was wondering why I have not heard from you , you poor thing !I feel so bad for you. I experienced bad back pain 7 years ago and spent months in pain wishing I was dead , yet I did not go through what you are ! I ended up with surgery to repair the damage and experienced immediate relief from the pain when I woke up in recovery. Listen to the professionals regarding your recovery of your back , take the time to heal enough that you can get stong and make that trip to Moncton! You are super close and what I would call an emergency case so it should not be too long a wait. You are in a dam if you do and dam if you don't situation , you got to keep the faith and know in your heart that you will get over this hirtle and will be on your way to getting your surgery done soon. You were going to get it done here in Halifax a few years ago only to find out the program was cancelled. You must find it hard to not to get totally discouraged ? But I can tell you , the surgery is well worth it , i am only 50 lbs down in 12 weeks , but I have gone from a size 26/28 to a size 20 and it feels great.
