Dr. Marc Savoie's patients

Hello everyone , I called his office this afternoon at 245pm.
The news I got was  :  that he is setting up a new office & department at the hospital , training his staff & that he will not be having any more consults until he is up & running .
The date now is the end of April , she said they keep changing the date.
The surgical suite is all done & waiting , the Dr. is anxious to get started.
She also said that just because I havn't been called , doesn't mean that I  had been forgotten.
I had said to her that I was worried that the program had been scratched & she reassured me that it hadn't been  .   If everything goes as planned , the calls for preop etc will be at the end of April  
I know that this is probably a repeat of what we have all been told , but I need reassurance from time to time . I do feel forgotten ...maybe I am just needy....
I hope that this helps some of you too.

Thanks for the info....I'll be posting here whenever I hear anything about a consult. 

I had my referral sent in the first week of December so I shouldn't be too far behind when he starts the consults again....

Nice to see you back. I missed you. Seems things are inching forward. I have to call her, as well. I had the tests done that Dr Savoie wanted me to have and now I'm anxious to see if he will approve me for the procedure. My family dr assures me he will go forward but I'd like to hear it from Dr S first.  The surgeon who did one of the tests put in his report to Dr Savoie that I would not make a good candidate for bypass surgery.  He made a mistake in saying that because one, I'm not having bypass and two, the report came back negative which was what Dr Savoie was looking for.  My family dr and I can't figure out why he would say that since he found nothing in the scope  to prevent me from the lapband.  Dr Savoie wasn't going to put me on his list until both reports came back negative ....which they now have!  So I now want to know  if he has me on the list. He promised to keep my spot on the list and not move me down!! I'm actually relieved that it has taken longer because I'm not fond of making that drive on those roads in the winter months.  Happy spring!!!

 Hi  Casey_B, good to hear from you too.  I have been lurking in the background on the forum , not writing much .
You should have approval for the surgery  from Dr. Savoie , I can't see why not since you have passed all the tests . Yes, if I was you , I would call tomorrow & let her know .  Good Luck  on being  in the same spot on the list. It's only fair that you are.
I don't blame you for not wanting to drive on those roads , they seem to get more snow up there  . Happy Spring to you too, although it doesn't look like it outside , it snowed 2-3 days in a row , really hard at times, but it will go away .  
Let me know what they tell you when you call ,. OK !

 Hi charlinemc , I will be waiting for your note about your consult. I hope that you get it  very soon .  I pray that they keep  the dates this time !   Like you said , you shouldn't be too far behind  me , my consult was in October.

Thanks for the update.. I am so tired of this roller coaster ride of emotions!!!!! I just want to know. I hope I get to see Dr. Savoie soon.

 Hi Steph_Manitoba , I am glad that I could share my update with all of you , I know that any tidbit about our sugeries are always good to hear.   I know they are pretty well all the same now . Nothing really new to  tell us .

This is good to hear, my referral was sent and received on January 2nd to Dr Savoie so I hope I am not too far on his list of waiting for my consult.  All is good though as I feel things will move along rather fast and before we know it it will be over and then we will be on the loosing end  WOOHOO!!!

 My setiments exactly !!    You should be one of the first of the new consults. I know that mine was in October. I am not sure when he quit taking them ...it may have been in November.
Hold tight ....when the ride starts , I am sure it will go fast !!!

 

Hey Fiddle, I tried calling all day yesterday and all I got was the answering machine! That’s good to hear, and hopefully the last time things will be pushed back. I should be the first one to get my call for surgery on this board. I had my consult on his very first day on October 9^th, 2008 at 3:30pm. When I saw him he had no pamphlets or even a band to show me! His secretary told me he was seeing 15 patients every Thursday for consults and I believe he stopped in late November (the 24^th?) I’m not sure if this is correct though…but I remember it being late November so this means he did consults every Thursday between October 9^th and November 24^th.

 

I am not gong to miss the call either because I am getting all my home phone calls transferred to my blackberry which is besides me at all times. Trust that this board will be one of the first places I post when I finally get “the call".

 

I’m getting excited but the truth is that I don’t want to get too excited because I’m scared it will be pushed to June, and then July….and you get the picture.
