Dr. Marc Savoie's patients
Hi Everyone,
To clarify, Karmy is right – his last day of consults was on November 27th which was the last Thursday of that month. This means that from October 9th – November 27th if he’s saw 15 patients on every thursday, he would have 120 consults under his belt. Of course this is an approximate considering I’m sure he did not approve everyone, and there were probably no shows, and maybe there were days he was not full at capacity.
I do recall when I had my consult on Oct 9th, he told me there are about 15 on the list at that time.
i wish u well also....did u get a date for your surgery yet.. let me know ???I really hope to get a date soon for surgery ..
..they keep putting it further away , but I hope that this date is the real one ....Only 2 weeks left in April & the receptionst said the end of April. I will definaltely be on here if & When I get the call ........with bells on ~
Hi Scartears , I'm with you , I hope this date is not pushed back again . She said, they keep changing the date & sort of blamed it on the government . I really didn't know what she meant . It must be the red tape she meant last time. You should be one of the first ones called for your preop ....Anita was in the 2nd Thursday & I was in the 3rd Thursday as was Casey (?). I think Prancing Nouget was the same day as Anita too. I do have to call her(secretary) back & give her my cell phone number because I won't be home much longer I will be out at the Bay for the summer. I also know what you mean about getting excited , I am like that too. ..
.. I am kind of impatient BUT considering all the dates that have been thrown at us ,we are doing good & need a pat on the back !!!
Hi Fiddle,
It would definitely not surprise me if it was the Governments fault there have been delays. There are big differences between a Government led practice and a private practice. Now that the Gov is paying for all procedures, I bet they have a lot of rules and regulations that need to be followed and really, I do think it’s best this way.
When I first had my consult, Dr. S wasn’t 100% sure of anything concerning his clinic but most likely assumed it would only take a few months to set up.
It is possible the government has been pushing back with, “In order to open this clinic, your staff must be shadowing nurses this amount of hours, take these courses, and you will need this, this, this, this and that"
It makes absolute sense. There are so many things that must to be put in place when it involves the governments’ money. I am sure it isn’t easy to open your own practice in a hospital; the staff, equipment, and guidelines need to be up to Gov standards.
Most likely when he applies for approval to begin surgeries he gets rep tape from the government for small things like:
“Your nutritionist needs this course and that course before she can work in WLS"
And until the course she needs or the training she needs is completed, he will not be approved to begin.
It makes sense to all those delays. I am pretty sure when Dr. B began his practice, he encountered the same thing.
Remember the old way, when in order to get approved by the Gov we had to jump through hoops and hoops? Well I bet Dr. S also has hoops and more hoops. The Gov always makes it as hard as possible to get things; this is just the way they are.
M
..BUT I am so glad that they finally cover the cost of the WLS , I was prepared to go the route alone , but was so surprised when I got the news that it was covered. I couldn't afford to pay myself but I couldn't afford to NOT have it done either. I am so ready to have this surgery & help . Another thing ,
I really enjoy reading the posts from the gals who have had it done & some of the things they go through . It certainly gives us a one up , I appreciate that.

We all hope that its soon, so we can get this new life style under way . I seem to want to get the liquid & purreed food part over with & on to my normal living.
