Hey Donna. Wow it sounds like you are a pro. I am so proud of you for getting all the protein in. I still struggle with it. I gag on those isopure drinks and the chocolate is nasty. I may have to just suck it up.... literally. lol. Keep up the good work.  Jennifer

Jennifer, The only protein drink I can tolerate is to take a Carnation Instant Breakfast (5 g. protein) with 8 oz. fat free skim milk (8 g. protein) and one scoop of Unjury unflavored protein powder (20 g. protein).  If you add up all the protein, this gives you 33 oz. of protein for one shake.    I put it all in my Magic Bullet and give it a mix.  Sometimes I will add ice cubes before mixing it to make it kind of slushy.  Sometimes I just add the ice to it after I mix it to make it good and cold and easy to drink.  I usually do two of these shakes per day and that alone is 66 grams of protein.  I have also found that I do really good with string cheese and bought some Kraft Polly-O Twists Superlong.  I am partial to the mozzarella and chedder cheese combined ones.  Each stick is only 90 calories, less than 1 g. of carbs, 0 g. sugars and 9 g. of protein.  This is an excellent snack or lunch for me and the 9 grams of protein help on the days I am only able to do one of the shakes.     Trust me, I am definitely not a pro!!!  I sometimes feel like I don't know what the heck I am doing and I am very hard on myself if I don't get in 59 g. of protein and 48 oz of water (haven't reached that goal yet!!!) everyday!!  I try to tell myself that it's still early in my journey and not to pu**** but I am a perfectionist and want to always do things right!!   I hope you find a protein drink you really like!  Most of them are way yucky!!!! Hugs, Donna

Hey Donna, I'm glad your doing so well. I hope I do as well when the time comes. I will keep your suggestion what you are eating and I will have to get a Magic Bullet. Were do you get one.  I think we all don't know what the heck we are doing but, with everyone's support and what the DR. says, it all comes together.

Hey Reenie!  Thanks for your nice words!!  The Magic Bullet is absolutely the best thing I have ever seen!  I got mine at Wal-Mart.  It is a bit pricey at around $60 but believe me, it will be the best $60 you will ever spend!!  I have read where some people catch them on sale at other department stores sometimes and save about $10-15 so you might want to check around and see what you can find.  There are "imposters" out there that are cheaper but I've heard that they don't last as long and aren't really as good as the real thing.  I highly recommend that you get one before surgery ~ it has truly been a lifesaver in mixing up the protein shakes. It is wonderful to have a support board like this one where we can all share ideas and help each other along the way.  I feel very blessed to have found it and have made a lot of terrific friends! Hugs, Donna

Thanks for the infor. I know about imposters. I bought on of those onion cutters. While pressing down to cut the onion it broke just like that. I have learned my lesson. Thanks. Maureen
