Hello everyone.  I just changed my avatar to show you "me"...so hello everyone...  but I really really wanted everyone to know that I have a serious question.  yeeooow!!  I am having a bad toothache and I am very worried that it might be the beginning of a root canal or worse..an abcess!  I had a filling for a cavity last week and since then it has hurt off and on.  for the past two days....ON AND ON!!  I am a pre-0p with one thing to go before getting it submitted to insurance (should be submitted this afternoon) and then having surgery scheduled.  my question is ....  should I wait it out... due to the dental thing always interferring with major surgery...or should I go ahead since I dont have it even into insurance yet, and hope for the best.  My Dr. , Dr. B, is one that is scheduling 3-4 weeks out after insurance approval "i hear" so that is even a month after insurance approval...  ughhh..  I'm gonna die I think.    Suggestions?   I am heading to work in a few so I will be back with the boards asap!   thanks a TON!! I really think I'd go asap, not just to get rid of that pain, but sounds usually when it hurts it's down into the nerve, or at least getting close, and it's not just going to go away, you know it's gonna' come back again.  The faster you go, the sooner you'll get it treated, you'd hate to have it flare up again surgery week!  Ironically enough, it may be a blessing in disguise.  Best of luck........and btw (by the way), the longer you wait, the longer you deal with that pain! Hi Connie, Glad you reached out.  I would definitely go to the dentist.  First to get you out of pain, and second to put you on antibiotics if necessary.  You would not want to go into surgery with a systemic infection of any kind!  You have plenty of time to get the dental treatment necessary, I should think.  But don't put it off.  Here it is Friday and who is going to be able to help you over the weekend? Hope this helps!

Yeah, I agree with the other ladies.  I would definately get the dental work done.  You don't want to have any infection when you have surgery.  And then you don't know how you will feel after surgery.  You might not feel up to going out to the dentist for a while, then you'll have the tooth ache to deal with on top of everything else.  Good luck

Connie -

Absolutely call your dentist right away. It sounds like an infection. They probably wouldn't do the surgery if you have an elevated white count anyway, so get this taken care of and you'll be good to go when you have your surgery scheduled.

Hope you feel better soon.

Girl you need to call your dentist and tell him you need drugs... and make them good really drugs too!!  ... but really though you need to go ahead and get your grill taken care of...  Don't you want to be able to smile and it not hurt anymore!  At the very least call the dentist and talk to him to see  what he says.  Maybe he can just yank your tooth out of your face real quick and it can heal and be done before your WLS.  Or, maybe he can just fix whatever is wrong and you will be fine...  Now back to the really good drugs....

did everyone think I fell off the earth?    nooo...I just have had a really really bad time with this tooth thingy since writing on Friday afternoon.    I did attempt to go to work, but that didn't last too long.  I didn't go at all.  I did call the dentist, they were closed for the day / week, and I left a message.  I didn't get a call back so I just self-medicated myself all weekend with some drugs that I had here.   Yowsaaa... Today and tomorrow I have extremely important training for work and I just cannot go until Wednesday morning.    but the important thing is..I have an appointment!!  Thank Goodness.  I took everyones advice and did decide to go.  Thanks so much for everyones support!!   you guys are great!!
