Wow Deb, who would'a thought??  I have a chewer too (goldens).  When we moved into our last house, the owner evidently had tossed rat poison bags in the back yard bushes.  We never knew it, for you don't go looking under bushes when you move in, but the dog found it.  She was soooooo sick.  Like yours, we got lucky she did not swallow it, but our vet bill was out of this world.  Thanks for sharing, my animals are my babies too.  Speaking of which, anyone interested in guinea pig babies?  We're about to pop! Give your dog extra hugs and some one on one time today.  Glad she's ok. Nancy

Oh my Gosh Nancy!  That must have been scary! Spirit is definitely getting extra hugs.  She's sleeping on the couch now, right between Ryan and I.  And that's really special, because they're not allowed on the furniture!  ;)  "Daddy" is a softie!

I'm soooo sorry to hear about Spirit's problem with the battery, but I'm so glad to hear that she'll survive the incident well. I hope that she'll stay away from stuff in the future. We have Havanese and one of mine injested a whole bottle of ImodiumAD, which is a dirivative of Morphine, it nearly killed her ... does she leave stuff alone ... NOOOOOO. I hope your dog is smarter than mine ;-)

Wow Deb you must have been terrified...but wonderful fast thinking probably saved her life.  That is a frea****urance for sure!  I am so glad that Spirit is going to be ok.  wheeew!  These dogs...boy they sure can tug at our hearts!   I was right there with you for an emergency vet after hours a couple weeks ago when my basset got into a trash bag FULL of old meds from an overloaded and long overdue cleaning of a medicine cabinet.  Gosh...  It was just horrible!!!   My pets are my children and I said to my husband when we got home at 4am that I couldn't imagine doing this with a child!   Hugs to you and your husband for doing such a great job at helping her out so fast.  And I'm sure her other siblings have possibly learned a lesson.  ohhhh and I'm sure they are jealous of the extra attention that Spirit is getting.  LOL Keep doing it...  they will get their time i'm sure!   Connie
