I didn't "binge", but I did have a "last meal" at a favorite chinese restaurant. Good news is that now I can still enjoy the food there, but only a few morsels. It's not that you'll never be able to have some of your favorite things, but you won't gorge yourself on them either. Some folks do have reactions to foods post surgery that are too high in fat or sugar, but honestly that usually resolves within the first 6 to 12 months. That's good and bad news. Good news is that you are likely to be able to have at least a little of your favorites once you get past the early part of your journey ... The bad news is that if you are having RNY ... or are you having lapband? ... you can't count on dumping syndrome to 'cure' you of bad habits.
My advise is to enjoy some favorite things in moderation with the knowledge that you will have them again, but in much more moderate amounts than you have been accustomed.
