My Spinal Tap
Darcie sweetie, you should never have been subjected to such treatment. I hope you are feeling much better by the time you read this. Now, take my advice, and you know I work at a hospital so take these steps....
1. document everything you remember including names
2. call the hospital and ask to speak with someone in their Risk Management Department, when you get someone in that dept, tell them your story. Follow this up with a letter to the hospital administrator and send a copy to your insurance company and your primary care physician. make sure you keep a copy too. Mark sure you tell them that the next time you need an elective procedure done, you will seek your care elsewhere.
3. give it a few days, maybe a week and call back and ask if they got the letter. By this time, you should have received a phone call from someone.
Patient satisifaction is VERY IMPORTANT to Risk Managers and Hospital administrators so this should get their attention and belive me, they will be talking to Dr. Feelgood and the other staff who were so brutal to you.
hang in the darlin and let us know what the outcome is. Luv ya! Alice

I grew up in Fayetteville, NC and know all about Cape Fear Valley Medical Center........... They lack professionalism and bed side manner. I am very sorry that you were treated that way! I think that just because these Dr.'s have a "GOD Complex" they try to treat patients like we are trash or unimportant and it's not RIGHT. My best friend's mother is Clinical Nursing Director and I know that she has, does, and will fire any staff who have more than 2 complaints against them.
I would def. complain to the Hospital and let them know just how badly you were treated. They will take every complaint seriously.
I know how spinal tabs are, I produce extra spinal fluid which causes me to have high blood pressure and constant headaches that are out of this world and visual disturbances. After the Spinal Tab headache you should get some relief from the headaches for a while.
Take Care,
Meagan
Awww!! Darcie Girl, I am so sorry you had such a bad experience!! What a ******* doctor, SERIOUSLY!!!!
What is it with these doctors/surgeons, thinking they are so high and mighty!! UGH!!
You are a tough cookie, but not even tough cookies should have to be talked to and treated like that!! DEFINATELY file a report!! I hope they find out some results of why you are having these migranes, I know they are no fun at all!!! It sounds like you too, have a great husband to be by your side!! Hang in there girlie and if you ever need anything, you have my number!!

Ohhhhh Darc,
I'm ssooooo sorry you had to go through all that! I thought I had a hard time with needles and IV's, but I take my hat off to you - I would have either walked out after the 2nd Nurse started digging, started yelling not so nice explatives or after Dr wonderful started talking to me like that I probably would have been taken to jail for assault. I know you needed the procedure to get some help with migraines but gees, there is a breaking point for EVERYONE! I have a bad anxiety problem with needles also but YIKES girl! Anyway, I'm really sorry you had to go through all that but I'm glad it's overwith and hopefully you can get some relief now. I would definatly report the situation and the Doctor, nobody should treat you that way! I think if you ever feel the need for anxiety meds or valium before a procedure then take it girl! Unless it's going to effect the outcome then there shouldn't have been a problem with it. Try to have a good weekend and let that man of yours baby you a little... hehe!
Take care girl!
