Congrats for making that first step!  I seriously have to get back on it myself... I'm really noticing my energy increasing so that helps. I may walk to lunch today since we are going right down the road... Every little bit helps. Keep up the great work and thanks for being a motivator to get me moving again!

In the spirit of every little step helping, I clipped on a pedometer today to see how many steps I take on an average day and to see if I can increase that daily...

Suzanne, I know exactly how you feel.  I wish I had a treadmill to step up on.  This morning my car broke down and I ended up walking 2 miles... LOL I left the cell phone at the house on the charger.  I involuntarily got my walk in today!  LOL Love, Diane

Suzanne,

Congratulations!!! As you know, I hate to exercise too and I will find every excuse not to do it, but we know that we need to do it. I think it just takes more time for some of us (meaning me) to get that mind/body connection.

Keep up the good work! It will pay off.

Hugs,

Barb

Gosh, I hope you are right about it paying off, Barb!  I sure don't want this to be the end of the line for me.  I am not "being bad" or eating the wrong stuff.  I think it has everything to do with being older and so short that I just don't need all the calories other people do.  The alternative is to diet for the rest of my life.  Just not what I want to do.  That's why I got this surgery in the first place.

(((Suzanne))),

First of all, I think that you have made amazing progress. As many people say to me, you don't even look like the same person that I met last year. Next, have you talked with your nutritionist about this stall? If you haven't, I'd consider it. You might want to log everything you eat for a week or so. I like www.mydailyplate.com because they have just about everything and I don't have to 'work' at it to log my intake. I know that you aren't being 'bad,' but maybe they can have a look and find a tweek or two to help you get the rest of the weight you want to lose off. I don't think that this means you'll have to 'diet' for the rest of your life, but you might have to make a few adjustments to take off the rest of the weight. It may well be that kicking up the exercise will be just the thing. You are so right that our metabolism slows as we get a little older and I'm sure that being such a petite person does impact your total caloric intake, but you may be able to work around that with a bit of cardio and maybe some strength training to build more muscle that will burn more calories.

I think you are on the right track.

Hang in there my friend.

Hugs,

Barb
