Yes they are. The biggest problem right now is having a room available soon after surgery. Some patients lately have had to spend the night in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The hospital  has been near census for a few months now so sometimes it's slow getting to the room, but it is private where you'll be once you get there.

If you are lucky and get to be first or second into surgery, your chances of getting a room quicker are higher. I was first on the list (at hopsital at 5:15am, taken into surgery around 7:30am although hubby said I probably didn't actually have surgery until around 9am or so) and I was in a private room by 1pm.  Most patients go to the North tower, intermediate care which means there is one nurse to about 4 patients... When you get in your room with the door shut, it's completely private. :)

Yes they are private!! But expect not to see a room for up to 24 hours   I spent 24hours post op in the surgery recovery room!! Where they bring all the patients after surgery and those waking up from anesthesia...It was not a good experience as far as that, but you will still recieve good care!! Also when you are in held in the recovery room, even though it may be the next day, you can only have visitors for 15 minutes every 2 hours!!  This was back when I had my surgery March 5th. Also I had to deal with the woman next to me..her family bring her Kentucky fried Chicken to her and the only thing seperating us was a curtain..YAH OH THE SMELL!! Darcie was there as my witness..LOL
HOpefully they have figured out something by the time you go in!!

Yes, all the rooms are private.  There are some rooms that were setup for semi-private on some of the older bed towers, but they only have one bed.  My grandmother is in one of these rooms and it is wonderful because there are 2 recliners, 2 TVs, etc. but only one bed.

Iris,   As you now by now the rooms are private! My surgery was the first of the day, and like Melinda, I was in my room by 1p.m. They had my room ready earlier, but the guy that was next to me in recovery kept needing the breathing tube and having complications, so the nurse that was supposed to take me up, was helping him. I didn't mind, i was napping on and off anyway. But anyway like I said I was in a room by 1pm and up in the chair at 6 pm. Danielle

Oh.  I expected this thread to be about Brad Pitt.  Can I get private rooms with him?

I was first on the books that morning at Pitt so I got to go right in my room after leaving recovery The rooms are nice and have a private bathroom, recliner and TV
