Hey everyone,  Just thought I would share my 3 month date with everyone. It was actually yesterday but we were on the beach most of the day so I am a day late. Anyways, I have uploaded some pics taken yesterday and done all my measurements and I have lost a 60 lbs since surgery on and 94 since I started the journey in Sept. My clothes are fitting baggy but I am still wearing the same clothes I wore last year(simply cuz we don't have the money to go buy new ones.(*$@# government stimulus package)} I did attempt to buy a shirt at Wal MArt the other day but had to take it back because IT WAS TOO BIG!!! and they didnt have one like it smaller. 3x must be a popular size. Anyways....some things I have noticed: My butt fits in the old metal rockers we have on our front porch I am almost below the weight limit for a bucket truck(not that I would get in one, just noticed it the other day driving down the  road) I can catch my kids faster when they misbehave and I am not breathing so hard I cant yell at them It doesnt take as much energy to clean my house It doesnt take as much energy to get into my dh's tall truck I wore a bathing suit and even took my shirt off from over it yesterday. The boat doesnt tip to the side when I get in I am a much cheaper date for dh seeins I eat off his plate I weigh less than I have in 9 years Anyways I am sure there are more and more to come. I regret this surgery at times but then others I cant believe I didnt do this 5 years ago. I have consider it for that long but was scared of the risks. I finally came to the conclussion that the benefits far outweighed the risks and I am glad I did. I miss my Dr. Pepper and I miss being able to eat a full meal but being smaller taste much better. I cant wait to break the 100lbs gone and the below 200 lbs mark. I hope to be able to share that soon. Thanks for listening. Melissa

Melissa -

You have done such an amazing job!!! I hope that you feel at least half as wonderful as you look, but you look just amazing! To be honest, I think you've gotten through the roughest part of the journey. That doesn't meant that ther won't be challenges in the future, but those first few days, weeks and months are the most difficult and are now behind you. CELEBRATE your fabulous success!

I look forward to your continued success,

Barb

Melissa, Your post made me laugh out loud ~ especially the part about not being too out of breath to yell at your kids!!!    You hit the nail on the head when you talked about the regrets you have had since surgery.  I too have had some similar regrets but when I look back on the past 10 months, I really wouldn't trade any of this journey for anything!!!  I feel so much better health wise and I look so much better too.  You keep on keepin' on and that 100 lbs gone will be here before you know it.  Congratulations on your success so far ~~ you look fantastic!!! Hugs, Donna

Wow Melissa!  You're doing fabulous, and reaping the rewards already too!  Yes, there are hard parts about this surgery (no more Dr Pepper, etc,) and it's important for pre-ops to understand that it's not all bells and whistles, so good for you for mentioning your true feelings.  But I'm so glad that you can list all of the benefits too!  The good far outweighs the bad...the sacrifices are worth it.  The Wows keep on happenning, and things will just continue to get better as you get closer to your goal.  Congrats on your successes in 3 short months!
