We took a detour on our way to Wisconsin last week and stopped at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH . They have a ton of world-class roller-coasters. Riding a roller coaster was one of my pre-surgery goals, and I can tell you, the first one I went on was quite the ride! I fit in the seat with room to spare. Up, down, all around. I screamed, I laughed, and when it was over I found myself crying from sheer joy. It really felt like the perfect way to start my new life. We rode most of the roller coasters in the place (which is saying a lot since it's the roller coaster capital of the world). As I said in my blog, this is the metaphor for my new life. Lots of twists and turns, but oh, what a ride I’m having!

Good for you!!! Riding a roller coaster was one of my pre-surgery goals too and while I haven't done it yet, I know that eventually I will get around to it. The last time I went to an amusement park was about 2 years ago and I was so humiliated when I was asked to get off the first (and only) roller coaster I attempted to ride that day because they couldn't get the harness thingy to latch. That is still kind of fresh in my mind and I have been afraid to try again. Guess I need to get over that, huh?? Congratulations on your super "WOW" moment. You definitely deserved to feel every one of those emotions you described!! Hugs, Donna

Yup, just one pound to go! It took 3 weeks for these last 2 to fall off, so who knows how long I'll have to wait for this one...but that's OK, I can certainly see the light and I know I'll get there sooner than later!

Love it! I just love this post. It is so true. My sister is having her RNY tomorrow.. mom called tonight to express her "concerns" and worries. She asked me if I was worried and I told her no.. I added that this has been one "heck of a ride" and that I was so excited for Beth or anyone who is just starting out. I want anyone who is trapped in a fat body to be able to take that ride too... You are right.. WOW! What a ride!!

I am a HUGE roller coaster fan, one place I have never been but heard sooo much about is Cedar Point, it sounds like you had a fab time and congratulations on your Roller Coaster goal!!!

Thanks Darcie! Each goal accomplished is exciting! You should take a trek to Cedar Point some time. It was about a 10 hour drive from Sanford. I'm so glad we went though! We definitely had a great time!

I'm glad you enjoyed Cedar Point. I grew up in Ohio and we would always go there every summer. Yes, our journey does have alot of twists and turns and there will be more to come! Enjoy the ride.
