6 month visit

I went for my 6 month visit today. I have lost 93 lbs. I have not gotten the results from my blood test frommy GP. So I can not report on this. Dr. B  is  gonna have me meet with Dr. Pryor at Duke about my hernia. He says he would feel better with me having it done there...that they have more expertise dealing with a hernia that large. My appointment is in Sept. I think some of you had her for a bariatric surgeon. Please if any of you have her for a Dr. please let me know about her. I think she will get rid of the excess skin at the same time.  This seems a little soon but I  won't have the surgery till later on. He just wanted her to put things in motion.  I am a little worried about this and it being bad enough to go to Duke.  I guess I have to go with the flow. Myrtis

93 lbs? That's huge!      As for the hernia? I feel your pain...literally. I have a feeling mine is substantially larger than last time I met with my doctor.       I know they say to "take it easy" but I naturally push myself on a daily basis just doing normal day-to-day things that need to be done...buying cases of water, getting salt for the softener, etc.      Nothing over 10 lbs? Ha! Like THAT'S do-able!

Mare. I am a farm girl and can't wait for someone to help me. I am a compulsive do it myself kind of person. That is one of the reasons I'm in this shape.  I look like I have a basketball on one side of my body. Well it has deflated a little. If I go for the fix before you I;ll give you the low down. Myrtis

Hi--wow, what an accomplishment!  I'm scheduled for RNY this Wed. with Dr. Pryor.  I've been very impressed with her, and the staff at Duke thus far (even w/their turnover). I'll be posting again once I'm back home and online, so be sure and ask me any questions then about her.  I do know one other person that had Dr. Pryor back in late April, and she was very pleased.

Myrtis,

Congratulations on your fabulous losses and resulting gains!!!

While I did not have Dr. Pryor, I hold a monthly support group meeting and go to meetings at Duke each month and I have to tell you that I have only heard wonderful things about her technical ability and her bedside manner. I would be delighted if my husband had her when he has his surgery through Duke.

Wishing you every success,

Barb
