Hello Everyone..New Support Group Leader

Greetings to everyone!
My name is Velda and I am a brand new leader with OH. I am very excited about becoming a support group leader. I will have my first support group meeting on Mon 9/8 here in Charlotte NC at the Plaza- Midwood Public Library at 6:30 pm. Just looking to do something fresh innovative, and interactive. My contact information is [email protected]  (Healthy Beginnings Weight Loss for Life is our groups name.) Just a little about me I am about 14 months out and I have lost a total of 150 pound! I look forward to chatting with everyone here in the great state of NC makes me want to dance!

Congratulations on both your success, and your decision to be a group leader!  

I thought that the only support group was at Presby (Lowe is also my surgeon), and am happy to see that there are others in this area.  Do you happen to know of any other support groups in the Ballantyne area?  Although it's definitely worth the drive to either Presby or Plaza-Midwood, I would LOVE to have a group closer to home.

Thanks for sending a reply. I am not aware of any support groups in the Ballantyne area at this time. If you are able to come out on Mon I'll share some information with you or just send me a email to [email protected].  How are you doing since surgery? Don't you just love Dr. Lowe?

Hi Velda.  Welcome to OH.  I'm in the mountains of WNC and hoping to have RNY in Hickory...still perhaps a couple of months away from surgery (fingers crossed!).  I think it is such a noble thing that you are doing to go from WLS patient to helping others.  Congratulations on your loss and on this new chapter of your journey!  Look forward to knowing you better!

Hello Ms Shauna. Thank you so much for the warm greeting. I know don't that I am being noble, just following my passion. I look forward to getting to know you better too.  Yes we'll keep our fingers crossed that your surgery will be on schedule.

Congrats Velda...you look GREAT!    While i would love to attend your meeting, I work in Ballantyne and live in Huntersville and get home by 4:15 pm.   It would be tough to get back on the road and head back into town.  If you ever change to Saturdays, I would be there!    Are you doing the walk from Obesity at Concord Mills on 9/20?

Well thank you for your very kind words. You work a long way from home. We will have some events on a Sat.  Yes I'll be attending the walk from Obesity. Will you be there? Hi Velda, Nice to meet you. I would love to come to the meeting but Like above...I live 45 to 50 North of UNCC and would be hard pressed to make it on a Monday. If you ever have any on Saturday I would be able to come. Hope to meet you someday and would love to hear your story.
