Seriously.  child proofing in my house is ever evolving and I have to wonder how our mothers did it without all of the locks and covers, etc we have today.

I completely understand and I dont know how our mothers handled that.  Although I might add that our kids today are more evolved and inquisitive (sp) than we were back in the day.  I know mine feel like they have to be in everything and at least touch everything once. LOL

Its amazing I even grew up. We didn't even have seatbelts when I was a kid much less car seats. I had first and second generation car seats for my kids and latches on the cabinets but no toilet bowl locks. My kids all made it to adulthood anyway.

My mother didn't need locks - she had a flyswatter, or a brush or a ruler or something she could pop me with if I didn't listen to her.

Do any of you remember standing in the front seaf of the car when riding with your parents?  How about laying out in the back windshield on trips?  Lawn Darts with the sharpe weighted ends, souldering kits, building sets with the littlest parts in the would that could easily be swallowed or stuck up your nose, chemistry sets with no telling what in them?  Hey - we survived and are better for it - at least we can think for ourselves and make decisions.  Except those that were hit in the head with the lawn darts or sniffed too much of the chemistry sets!!!!

What fun memories!!!
