It's been a while and I am up about 20 pounds and it is so hard to get it back off.  But anyways it all relates to letting bad habits back in.  In any event I have had issues with low blood sugar in the past and no I haven't had my labs in a long while.  Lately though after smelling somthing burning in my oven which I took to being a dead roddent...don't ask....I now periodically smell this same sweet sicking smell at different times and places.  alot of times on my sofa and no nothing dead is in it....I checked.  Sometimes I smell it at work or in church....I don't know it starting to worry me.  Any clues?

Glad to hear your first day went well! And also happy to hear that you are trying to get more involved. Otherwise it can be hard to fill up the days without getting depressed.

I'm at work, on my lunch break. Tonight we go work out. Have been having a stressful time at work - having to do performance reviews- plus all the stuff to deal with moving this place. Sometimes I really wish I wasn't the boss. Last night I went to bed at 3:30 and slept until this moring in time to get up for work. I know how I hibernate when stres****s. But at least I'm not eating!

Hope everyone else is doing well today!

Great job on first day.

Exercise can be a pain in the tushie but we should all do it. I cant right now because the surgeon told me I was doing too much and that was one of the reasons I got dehydrated so I cant do any dedicated walking or such until after tomorrow.

Not much planned for today other than a bit of cleaning.

Hope everyone has a good day.

It does **** me off when someone takes something someone has said as gospel. Like so and so had the surgery and they died- lol uh no they didnt because I just talked to them the other day, unless they were a zombie.
I love it when people do that because not only can I let them have it with FACTS but also tell them to do research before opening their mouths.
One of the biggest hurdles I overcame was with my MIL. She was totally against me having it done and even told me things about people we both know who has had it done that things went wrong. And yes things did go wrong with these people BUT because they chose to not follow rules. Now three weeks after getting the surgery she is so supportive. I just had to give her the proverbial nudge that I did this for one reason and one reason only- me.

If you chose to let the naysayers sit in your head you will most likely fail BUT if you chose to educate those naysayers then you have gotten one up on them.

It might help to know that there is a 'failure' rate of about 20%, that the good news is that the success rate is about 80% and there is no other weight loss method that has an 80% success rate. BTW, this definition of success is looking at sustained weight loss 5 years post op. Other weight loss methods have a paltry 3 to 5% success rate. Also, if you are affiliated with a multidisciplinary practice that provides behavior modification support, nutritional support, and monthly support groups, along with long term follow up you are likely to have a good outcome.
