I agree that it is a shame that the Duke Durham 'program' as a whole gets such a black eye because of the administrative stuff. I'm hoping that this will get better because as you say they really do have a wonderful, robust program.
I'd love to meet you too! Maybe I'll see you at an upcoming event in the future.

Hope everything moves along smoothly for you.
It seems like your the second person that has said the same thing about Duke Raleigh. Yesterday KoKo said pretty much the same thing. I'm probalby repeating myself but it seems a shame that Duke Durham has such a wonderful program but because the office personel doesn't return calls their getting a bad rap.
Someday Barbara, I'll have to come to one of the meeting to meet you.
Just FYI -- If you need to take dry Vitamin D3, Walgreens stocks Natrol 10K UI Vitamin D3 tablets in their stores and has it online. It is regularly 9.99 for 60 tablets, but right now they are having 2 for 1 sale. I'm going to head over to my local Walgreens and pick some up.
BTW, not all Vitamin D3 you find at the local drug store is equal. If you have had a malabsorbtive procedure you can't absorb it using the gel caps and need the dry, tablet version. Here is the URL the online information for this product so that you can order online or know what to look for if you go into your local store. http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/natrol-vitamin-d3-10%2c000- iu-dietary-supplement-tablets/ID=prod6063891-product

One of things I would check into is if they do or are likely to require a 6 month medically supervised weight loss attempt. If so, I'd get that started with your PCP asap so that it will be done. Normally those are acceptable within 12 to 18 months of submission for approval. If you do a medically supervised weight loss attempt, you'll want to make sure that your Dr. documents this very carefully so that you don't 'waste' any of those months. Medicare documentation guidelines tend to be among the stiffest, so if you meet theirs, you are likely to be okay which means that it needs to be a visit where the purpose of the visit is Medically Supervision of Weight Loss. The Dr. has to document all of your vitals: height, weight, BP, pulse, etc... The Dr. needs to document the plan/results of your nutritional/dietary regimen, i.e., Atkins Diet, South Beach Diet, Low Carb Diet... The Dr. needs to document the plan/results of your exercise regimen, i.e., walking 20 minutes a day and going to the gym 3 times a week for resistance training or aqua aerobics 3 times a week, etc... The Dr. needs to document the behavior modification portion of your plan: i.e., counseling 2 times a month, or weigh****chers program, or ...
Best of luck and thanks for sharing this good news!

I don't know about this new job. The first one, Monday is three hours away and the one on the 19th is an overnight. I need a dog walker for sure. Anyone in the Raleigh/Durham area interested?
Today I need to hit the books! I got to get through this course!
