I'm at work again today though we did our grocery shopping this morning. The heat was getting to me though so I was glad to get back to the air conditioning.
Tomorrow was supposed ot be my day off but looks like it is a day for meetints again so I'll be in here bright and early. My library is moving to a temporary location while this buidling is being renovated. So much to get done and get planned and get out to folks. But at least it is keeping me off the streets, right?
Hope everyone out there is having a good Sunday.
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who came to the Bariatric Aftercare Symposium at the Raleigh One Step at a Time monthly support group meeting yesterday. The symposium was focused on ways to succeed longterm after bariatric surgery. Each presenter brought something special to the event:
Dr. Eric DeMaria of New Hope Wellness Center in Raleigh NC, introduced his newly launched center for total bariatric aftercare, New Hope Wellness Center in Raleigh NC which is providing comprehensive support for bariatric patients with a focus on the whole patient and long term aftercare.
Author Dawn Adams shared techniques from her new book, Weight! That's not the Issue which help us find ways to identify and manage stressors to more effectively deal with the issues that can contribute to emotional eating.
Dr. Martin Binks of Binks Behavioral Health spoke about tools and techniques we can use to identify and remove barriers that can stop us from making the changes necessary to support the healthy lifestyle we want to live.
Author and motivational speaker Barbara Thompson spoke of her personal journey and experiences as an WLS patient as well as sharing strategies for attaining and maintaining long term success.
It seemed like the time flew by and I wish that we could have a couple of more hours. I really appreciate the time the presenters took to speak with our group.

FInally got our stuff. Unfortunately, a few things are missing and/or broken. However, it was nice to have slept in my bed even though poorly. I think I was just too tired to sleep.
Today is church and unpacking. Many things need to be repaired. Hubby will be busy. What's on your agenda?
Paula
Hi Paula,
I hope that the move and the interview went well.
I spent the day setting up, running, cleaning from or otherwise working on the Bariatric Aftercare Symposium we had in Raleigh today.
You were in my thoughts and I hope that today turned out to be a very GOOD day for you and yours.

Today is a HUGE day! We go get our stuff!! Looking back, I am amazed at how long it took to get this all worked out. What was exposed, closed and changed. This will, unfortunately, make money issues worse but well, maybe this phone interview this morning will be positive.
What are you up to?
Hope all is well with everyone. I wish you good luck Paula in getting your stuff.
