Hey Becca,   Glad to see your message.....  How are you doing ?  Hey, do you ever go to any of the support groups at portsmouth hospital or are you just way too far away.....  Just wondering bec' if you do then I should see you there ???
Glad to hear you've gone from a 24/26 to an 18, that's great !   I'm gone down 2 sizes myself, but am only 4 weeks out tomorrow.....   but it is empowering ! ! !

I have a question for you, especially being another one of Dr Gens patients .....   I'm 4 weeks out and at stage 4 diet, but I am having a little difficulty finding food appetizing at this point.  Most food is not appetizing to me at all and my pouch doesn't ever feel 'normal' , it doesn't hurt or anything 'bad', I would say it mostly feels a bit bloated, or just a little upset.....   I have my shake every am, but I have to force it down, at this point I never enjoy any of the many shakes I've got samples of.  I can not stomach having any 'soft' foods , like yogurts, cottage cheese etc.  Even the foods that I really like now, I usually can't stomach them for the next meal.  Most food is just 'turning me off', but I am getting in the protein.  I'm just wondering how it is for you at this point since you're a few weeks ahead of me ???  I do get hunger pains but I can deal with it,  it goes away once I eat my protein.

Topic: RE: x post seizures
I don't know anything about siezure meds after RNY, but my husband takes multiple meds for siezures (traumatic brain injury) and he went through a period where time release ones were good and then not.  So, what about trying time release?  Or if he is on those already then going to regualr ones.  Also, for my husband it made a difference when he was on generic and name brand.

Not much advice, just trying to brainstorm.  Good luck.

Topic: x post seizures

I am wondering if anyone has or knows anything about Seizure meds after RNY.  My husband is 17 months post RNY and is now experiencing seizures and the meds seem to work for about 8 hours, and the dr's here think I am nuts when I tell them he needs them more than twice a day because of his RNY.  Just looking for any help or advice.  After spending 3 days in the hospital they told me to bring him home  and keep him safe.  Thanks for the help and letting me vent.

Topic: Clothes!
Does anyone have some use for women's pants size 24 and 26?  Mainly dress slacks, I have about 10 pairs.  I am actually into a size 18 now and so psyched!  I just hope that my old clothes can help someone else losing weight or on their road to surgery.  Thanks!

Topic: RE: I am 6 years post op and have re gained alot of weight!!!
I had my lap band March 2007. Have kept 40 off but regained 12. So  after much thought, I decided to try Jenny Craig. I feel I need a lot more support and hand holding than I've found through the hospital baratric program. The meetings are not often enough for what I need.
In a way I feel like I've failed, but on the other hand I'm glad I''m doing something about it before I gain even more.
The gain has been within this past year by having bad food habits creep back in.
I'm still exercising, but not as much as a year ago.
So do whatever works best for  you...no matter what.
The only failure is not to try!
