Topic: Had my ps
Morning all.  So, my extended abdominoplasty went very good on Thursday.  It has been much more difficult than I thought it would be, but each day gets a little better.  In my opinion, it is much more painful than my RNY.  Dr. Topol took 2.5lbs of skin off.  I saw the pic. on Mon. and it is quite surreal.  Dr. Topol is very nice.  I had my 1 drain taken out Mon. and will go back on Fri. to have the stitches on my new belly button removed.  All the other stitches will disolve on their own.  I have been taking pics and I am looking forward to seeing slow improvement in them.  Although I can't stand straight (yet), I do see a very flat stomach!  I'm slowly weaning off the pain meds (haven't taken any since 11:00pm last night.)  My lower back is kind of sore and the compression thing I'm wearing is quite irritating, but I will have to live with that.  I have met a few milestones:  coughing (ouch), sneezing (ouch) and TMI................having a BM (not that painful.)  I haven't gone upstairs yet (been sleeping on the recliner in the living room.)  I may venture up there tomorrow to take a shower.  My husband has been very helpful.  Today he had to go to work, so my mother is here (sleeping on the couch right now...lol) to help me out.

So anyway, that's my story.  Looking forward to a full recovery and resuming a "normal" life.

Hi Kathy,

It is funny, but I seem to be doing a little better now.  Maybe it was getting together to share frustrations!  I am so glad that you are doing better, although I think you still look amazing!

I am getting a fill today, so that will help.  Haven't been able to exercise that much but still getting in some workouts.

I am so thankful for having friends like you, Cathy and Lisa.  You keep reminding me that it is possible.

Had a decent weekend; was defiantly busy which I liked :) Have more and more stress coming into play so I like to stay busy.... great distraction!
Now trying to get the 3 day week go by (why do short weeks always seem so much longer than full weeks?)

Toady's Plan
Breakfast: Cottage Cheese w almonds
Lunch: Chili with low fat cheese
Dinner: Sausage w peppers and onions.... after the meeting of course!

Hopefully the weather lets up so I can get in my lunchtime walk since the meeting takes the gym option away. I thought I saw sun there for a minute!

good morning all.

i had a very busy weekend with lots of food challanges.. Saturday went on a bus with about 15 friends to foxwoods including the buffet and Sunday i went out to a breakfast buffet with my family and had a good time then it was off to bammas house to hang with some friends... i am very proud of the fact that i did not over eat at the buffets... i used all the skills that we have talked about... i scoped out the food before putting anything on my plate .. i ate slowly and used conversation to make my portion last longer ....

so today back to the real world

breakfast - eas shake
lunch- tuna with light mayo and wheat thins
snack- 1/2 cup chili
snack 2 -Greek yogurt if i need it
dinner-not sure might see if big red will bring some sushi for dinner before the meeting tonight..

and sookie be sure to say hi tonight i would live to put a fact to the name..

There is no need to look back unless you plan on going that way!

Hi Sookie,

I really had a great weekend.  Had my grandson, although Sunday morning featured an hour temper tantrum!!  But got lots done, and spent time with family and friends.

So plan for today:

Breakfast:  Low fat granola with simply smart milk

Lunch:  Tuna with light miracle whip, 10 low fat wheat thins and (oh no!!) small serving of apple crisp.

Dinner:  Well we have our meeting tonight, so I will probably have my banana and a pure protein bar at some point in the afternoon.

Sookie, please come and say hi to me at the meeting.  I will be the one showing up late!  I really want to meet you!

Hey Martha -
So I'm just now reading this post.  Since you wrote it, I have seen you at Jazzercise last week.  I'm just curious -- Are you having a better week?

Ya know, I'm right there with you.  I've been struggling for about a year now, with nothing to show for it.  I guess I do well, and then I have a slump when I don't do so well, and that negates all my hard work.  I would still like to lose 10 or 15 pounds.  This week, something finally clicked for me.  I don't know why, or what caused it, but I hope it lasts.

Hang in there.  Keep to basics.  Things will be okay.  You are a hard worker, and that hard work will pay off for you!

Hi Tina,
Everyone here is offering you good advice to help you get back on track, and I really have nothing additionally to offer.  I just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain.  I am 3 years out and am struggling to maintain my 30 pound gain!  I can't seem to get even one of those pounds off despite my best efforts.  All I can say is get back to basics.  Write it all down - all of it.  Don't eat anything unless you put it in a plate and set a place at the kitchen table where you will eat it.  In order words, don't graze or eat in front of the tv.  Even if they're good calories, they will add up, so you always want to be eating mindfully.  Also, be sure to get in your exercise.  I aim for 60 minutes a day a minimum of 5 days a week.  I may not get to the gym on the weekends, but I run around cleaning the house, gardening, etc., so I'm still active on those days too.  Good luck and keep posting here.  Everyone on this board is a great source of support.
