Welcome to the other side.... it is great here.  I know the start feels like crap, but everyday gets better.  I think it was 4 weeks before I felt like me again, but now I think wow how much more can I do.  I am actually thinking about a 5k here at work at the end of October.  You can do this and you will be so happy with your improved health that you will forget this part soon.  I have to remind  myself that I am only 3 1/2 months out.  I have seen so many changes already.  Drop me a line if you want to chat, or if you just need a boost.  The best is yet to come!

Okay Diane.....BACK AWAY FROM THE CANDY CORN!!!  Why are you still having that in the house!???  Do I have to yell at you again!  But seriously, I know the feeling about the plateau, I have been there for about a year.  It is tough, but look at it in a different light.  You have lost 90 pounds, and you have not put it back on.  We would love to have you back to our meetings.  Our poor lap band group is getting smaller and smaller!  But most important, you need to get your friends and family behind you, supporting you in your stuggle with sugar.  Remember, you can have it, but you really need to limit what you take in, so instead of having it in a bowl, where it is easy to just take a handful, buy single serving sizes (if you have to buy it at all!).  That way, you have to make the concious decision to get the package, open it, and eat it.  It will not become mindless at that point.

Just some thoughts.  We still need to get together for lunch when you are in Concord!  I miss seeing you!

I haven't been here in a long time. I'm 18 mo's post op and stuck at 90 lbs lost. I've been teetering back and forth with 4 or 5 pounds for the last 8 months. : (
I'm pretty sure I can tell you it's sugar. M&M's, Candy Corn, whatever holiday candy is going by...and there is always one or another. I eat well all day, still go to the gym at least 4 times a week and yet...
I was never a sugar addict before (at least I didn't think so****il I really couldn't have it anymore. Now when I put one bite in my mouth, it opens up a door to non-stop munching. especially in the evening. I'm fine all day at work when I'm busy.
I think I need to go back to the support groups. I still have a ways to go to goal.

Hi all, I finally came home late Sunday afternoon and I today is my first day feeling a little better. I just want to thank all of you who sent me words of encouragement and helped pre-op with some great advice, recipes, etc.  I already feel like I've been to hell and back when I was in the hospital and I never thought it would take me so long to bounce back.  That being said, I wouldn't have changed my decision for the world because I know it was my key to a healthier and therefore happier life with my family!

Got a good work out at the gym yesterday :)  Hope to get a walk in at lunch today if the rain holds off. I have to make cookies tonight for our Making Strides walk fund raiser here at work tomorrow so I need to burn as many calories as I can because I know how I am when I make cookies.

Hi All,

Had a great time at the meeting last night....Hope we can welcome new members here!

So today will be interesting.  I have blood work this morning, so I have to fast.  And then on the road for breakfast.  So here goes.

Breakfast:  Thinking I will make a shake quickly!!

Lunch:  Tuna and wheat thins....(sound familiar Dave!!)  I will probably add some grapes.  (Might have Wendy's chili though, undecided at this point)

Dinner:  Hum. I will be cooking tonight, and will have time, so I think I am going to make something special....don't know yet.

Snacks:  I have protein bars.  Probably won't need much of a snack today.

I have two doctor's appointments today, and a bunch of other stuff to do, so I think today will be really good as food goes.

Hope all have a wonderful day!!!  Be careful out there, leaves and rain do not mix!

Oh we will miss you tomorrow. Sorry to hear about your job, maybe your judge can give you a great recomendation so you will find a new home to work in...keep the faith...

I'm not doing well lately...too busy at work, not eating right again, skipping meals...I had a trip to the hospital Friday, out of no where, I had pain in my wrist and hand so bad, giving birth was less painfull...after 4hrs and 7 x-rays they told me it was tendonitis and put me on Aleve & pain meds and gave me a brace to stablize the wrist. Getting old stinks....needless to say my weight is up 3lbs so trying to get a handle on it this week so I can at least fit into the dress I got for my niece's wedding on 10/16...

Have fun with your friends and I'll keep you in my prayers that a new job comes your way....
