Desperado.... Please, this is not to offend.......
OH Family I am so desperate for an approval for the sleeve procedure I called my carrier today offering my assistance after discovering am unusual benefit coverage on the website. This is how it all started. While browsing covered surgical procedures I noticed a surgical cosmetic procedure that in no way did I think was covered. When I called and was told it was a covered benefit, I immediately offered a “win win" solution, so I thought. I told the rep in exchange for my sleeve surgery, I would be willing to anonymously donate the 15% of my removed stomach to the nearest Penile Implant Assoc since penis implants are covered without pre authorization. Well folks the answer I got was “dial tone" . Yep, “straight dial tone".. Dang, and I thought donors were appreciated in this country … Guess not. There goes my approval........
Yeah.. just think.. they could no longer lie about cosmetic surgery. We would be able to tell which ones have had a little cosmetic surgery goin on...Oh Yeah......The insurance rep called back, laughed and apologized for the hang up. When she laughed she accidently hit the button. She said she needed that laugh. ....So then I was told that my file has been assigned and is now being examined. So maybe just maybe I can get my surgery and someone can get a "growling" new one....Hope yur doing well.. hehehe Hi Miss Thin & Gorgeous, Ahealthyme... The Rep called me back apologizing as she was laughing so hard that she accidently disconnected the call. She was still laughing when she told me that she had checked the status on my paperwork and said that it had been assigned and was being examined as we spoke.. A decision would not be long. she actually said she hoped it would be good news. They are probably re-reviewing my "psych" consultation... hehehe.. Call ya latah good buddy....
Jana...I LOVE your "trade off" for surgery. I know you're frustrated...hang in there...it'll happen but it just sucks that the insurance coordinator is making things MUCH more difficult. Should have been a simple fix. When the office received a call that you had been denied...the call should have then turned to..."let's substitute the RNY code" and the ball would have started rolling in that direction already. Sounds as if your insurance coordinator is making a TON more work for everyone involved.
