I have had an appointment with my internist to start my six month diet on 11/30.  I will follow up with him on the 14th of this month with my food journal and we will start a program from there.  I have not had any appointments with a nutritionalist or anyone from the surgeons office yet.  Infact, I am not too pleased with them as I have left numerous messages and haven't even gotten a call back from them.  They said that they would call the week following the seminar.  I went on Nov 10 and here it is 12/5 and still no call.  I will call to harrass them again in the morning!  My avatar photo is from my daughters first swim lesson.  I have loved the water from the moment I had my first bath.  The looks are uncomfortable, but I think the only way my weight would keep me out of the pool is if I were too big to fit through my front door.  It's hard when you live in a condo and share a pool with the neighborhood, but hey, if I am paying the absurdly high association fees to keep it maintained, I sure as hell am gonna use it!  So, even if you are sick of the looks and snickers behind your back, enjoy yourself anyway!!

I had RNY in Feburary. I lost 10 lbs before surgery.  Afterwards, I lost 8lbs my first week. After that it was a steady 2-4 lbs a wee****asionally, I will stall, but I notice that even when I don't lose, my clothes will fit better, and then it catch up. I have gone about three weeks on a stall or plateau, and boy did I stress out.  My ticker is from www.tickerfactory.com Once you make it, you right click on it and copy and paste it into your signature. It's really easy. I thought I needed to use the code, but you just copy the image.  PM me if you need more help on how to do it.  (I didn't know this, but your signature settings are only accessible under "user settings" -in the message board)! Good luck!

SWCC is difficult about retuning calls, you have to be persistant. Well worth the hassle. They are amazing with after care! I thought after the surgery I would be worthless. But the phone tag was really difficult until I had all my consult. Then it eased up. They seemed to be waiting for someone else in the chain. Once my insurance was approved, they were right on top of things. Even now (10 months out), they are reasonably prompt about returning my calls. Your doctors' office has to give you a copy of you records if you request it. They may charge you a fee (per page). Is your doctor supporting you need to have the surgery?  I wouldn't burn bridges with my PCP, if you want to ask "so you can have documentation of your progress", it seems nicer than "I don't trust you".  It does seem like a smart choice to be aware of what they are putting in your file. It would be horrible to be counting on the supervised diet, just to find out it isn't supportive for WLS. Plus, I've read other people post about their doctor's supervised diet logs not being as detailed as their insurance required. Way to go for being proactive! Dr. Fisher has retired.  We now have Dr. Soong as well as Dr. Akinson.  Good luck with your journey!

ok I thought I was the only one that had problems with the SWCC.  Question though?  If you ask your PCP for a copy of your chart thus far, will he give that to you?  Is he bound by law to give it to you?  I am curious because I am entering my 4th month of the 6 month diet and am really anxious and concerned about what is being put in my file, I dont want to get to month 6 and find out that something wasnt entered in right and have to start all over again.  Thanks for any help.  Oh and is Dr. Fisher retired?

Hi Lynn How've you been? Good, I hope. THanks for posting about the meeting at St. Mary's. I'm bummed. I can't make it. We have our best friends from Minnesota in town and this week is their last weekend here, so am spending every minute I can with them. I'll try and make it next month. Peggy
