Topic: Dr. Teng
I had lap rny w/Dr. Teng on 3/17/05. He is a very cautious, skilled and caring Doctor. I was reccommended to him by a nurse who also had WLS with him. He has successfully done 100 surgeries now and has had no deaths, leaks, or revisions. Feel free to join our on line support group at yahoo groups. While I was researching surgeons, I inquired about him from everyone in the medical community that I could get my hands on. I did not hear one single negative thing about him. On the contrary, everyone said that he was cautious. My own primary care physician told me that he would have Dr. Teng operate on his own child. Now with that said, do your research, feel comfortable with whomever you chose. There are risks, know them and ask yourself if your willing to take that ste*****t. He will cancel your surgery if you gain weight. He takes this very seriously. Have you attended a support group meeting yet? The dates are on his website.
Good luck and God bless.
Topic: RE: Does anyone have ANY info...
Dr.Teng did surgery on my father in 2002, not WLS but a simple gal bladder surgery that was supposed to be done laproscopically and ended up being open with an incesion from his breast bone to his pelvic bone. This was on an 82 year old man and it was the beginning of the end. Based on his age, any surgery would have been risky. I do not want to scare you, however, being a skilled surgen or even a skilled laproscopic surgen, does not make you skilled at WLS. I don't know if you had your surgery and if you did and went with Dr.Teng, then you have to trust your decision. I would want to know how many Lap-Rny's or Lap-bands he's done, cause I've heard he's fairly new at WLS and have also been advised that you should find a surgen thats done the procedure atleast 100 times. The more experience at the procedure the less likely you are to end up with complications. Again, this is the only experience I've had with Dr.Teng and I'm sure you'll do fine, just ask A LOT of questions!

If you're into the club/nightlife scene make sure you go to PURE while you're staying at Caesars. It's the big celeberity spot right now. Never know who you might see!
Hope you guys have a blast.

Tammy,
It is not on the way, but it is a few miles to the west of the strip, just past the Summerlin community. Check out this site for more info and directions. It also list a couple of other places that might be of interest to you. americansouthwest.net/nevada/red_rock_canyon/nca.html

Billie,
Where is Red Rock Canyon? I will be in Vegas for 10 days. We are going to the Grand Canyon, is it on the way?
Thanks,

Evette,
I am going to Vegas in May for 10 days (this is my first time also) and I found a ton of info at vegas.com. There is definately alot to do in Vegas besides gambling. We are also going to the Grand Canyon for 2 nights and staying at the Bright Angel Lodge. While we are in Vegas we are staying at the Stratosphere, Tropicana and Caesar's where my husband has a 5 day convention.
Best of Luck to you,
Tammy
