Thanks Qweenbee! Another benefit that resulted from having the surgery is that I've been able to insire others to do something to lose their weight in order to improve their health. Others at work are now inquiring into having the surgery and some are doing weigh****chers and other programs. I'm just glad that I can encourage others to do whatever they can.
Good luck to you as well in your weightloss journey and remember I'm here if you ever want to talk or hang out. I can use the treadmill and other equipment at home, but I try to work out at LVAC at least twice a week if you're ever interested in going sometime. It's always more fun if you have a workout buddy.

Take care,
Valerie
Hey Val!!
Yes I remember you and I told my sister I met you and how nice you were when we met. My sister says that not only because I am going thru this now, you too have influenced her to get this surgery done ASAP! I am not sure how you looked before, but you look amazing!! Wow, congrats to you too. Being on this site has helped me a lot and everyone's input and experiences have been a HUGE comfort for me as well. Barb was one of the first on here that I have spoken to and yes I agree that she is awesome!!
I hope we can stay in contact thruout this website and hopefully we can meet up again soon:)..Thanks for the good wishes and I am counting the days to Feb. 16th...Take Care Missy and Good luck to you as well during your Losing Stage:)....
Just Me,
Serine
Congratulations to both of you!

Actually Queenbee you and I met a little over a week ago when I was last in for a follow up visit with Dr. Hanna. I also work with your sister.
Good luck to both of you, I'm sure you'll do well. Dr. Hanna and his office staff are wonderful! Hope to see you soon!

I went to the Vitamin Shoppe on W. Charleston and bought a bunch of different shake mixes/ready to drink ones. They have a rewards program (I think you buy a certain amount and they send you coupons), and I was very glad they have a policy to where if you open the container and hate it, they'll let you exchange it.
So far, the Matrix Vanilla they sell has been my favorite. I'm making peanut butter smoothies, strawberry smoothies, etc. I would think it's a lot easier when your stomach's the size of a walnut to be satisfied with these...not so much right now.
Hey Gloryday,
I too wanted to do the sleeve, but my insurance does not approve it yet, so that is why I am doing the RNY. I too am hoping that my recovery won't be so bad and that I can return to work soon after. I definitely am making sure that I drink a lot of water and I always drink water so i know that won't be so hard. But everything else I know I will have a hard time with(like food..LOL)
And YES I too believe this year 2010 is our year of CHANGE and GLAMOUR BABY!! WOW I am so amazed that you are not taking anymore medication for your Diabetes and so soon!! Congrats to you MIssy and it definitely is your GLoryDay!! Well keep in touch if you can so that we can all motivate ourselves on here!! Take Care!!
You asked what else you can do to prepare. The only other thing I can think of is make sure you get your daily water intake. Good luck with your bowel prep haha (makes an icky face)
I had my Vertical Sleeve Jan 15th at Summerlin Hospital, exactly a week ago. I am doing fantastic. I had no pain since 8 hours post surgery. I was back at work the 5th day. I am walking 10 min on the treadmill. It was sooo easy! I am type II diabetic and have not had to take any meds post surgery.
2010 is our year!
Yesssss!! I do not mind at all...At least I know that once we work out together, this will motivate me to keep on top of exercising everyday
