Congratulations! We'll be two weeks apart! Let's keep in touch through this! Which hospital are you having yours at? I'll be at Desert Springs...I just had my class they require there, and there were patients from other doctors. I left feeling even MORE confident in Dr. Hanna as my surgeon. There was a guy there that his dr. wasn't even having him do a bowel prep! And the nurse in charge of the bariatric program shared with me that Dr. Hanna is an EXCELLENT surgeon. Very well respected.

Maybe we can start working out together once we heal up a bit!

YAY I cannot believe it!! I just got the call from my doctor's office and my insurance approved my surgery in less than 7 days. WOW!! So my date is scheduled for sure on 02/16...I am sooo stoked and nervous at the same time. I am starting on the shakes today and my vitamins on Feb 4th. I have been walking for 30 mins everyday for 1 week so far. Any advice on anything else I need to prepare for before the surgery?

Hello there and congratulations!! I too am waiting for my final surgery date and going thru Dr Hanna as well and I love him:)...I wish all the best for you!! I too have been waiting to make this decision for a long time and I am now convinced that this is what I NEED to do, not want anymore:)...Keep us posted on how you are doing..Looking forward to it:)...Good Luck!!

Starting a Bariatric Surgery meetup group. Nothing formal, just possible monthly meetings to discuss our successes and also our challenges. We can share tips, recipes, WOW moments and possibly a clothing exchange. Hopefully we can have features speakers or even have an outing.

Dr. Soong is great. My recovery was very good. Very little pain up and about within 2 days and went back to work after 10 days.

Our surgery dates will be a month apart, so I know you will have a very successful surgery!
