You know this thread isn't going to have any resolution...we obviously just all need to "agree to disagree".  I actually don't know Dr. Rutledge personally but there are some VERY EXCELLENT surgeons in this town.

Dr. Teng also requires all of his patients to know "exactly" what your procedure entails. Not only that but on your final pre-op visit...you are given a written 20 question test which you must pass or your surgery will be rescheduled for a later date.

Dr Hanna is relatively new in the field of bariatric surgery but he is one of the most excellent surgeons that I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

I'm by no means an expert but I do consider myself to have a slight upper hand as I've worked as an ICU RN in Vegas since 1985.

OK...who's in???? The Womens Fair is next Saturday 1/23/10 at the South Point Casino(LV Blvd and Silverado Ranch). The "official" hours are 10am til 4pm. The first 500 women get some extra freebies. I plan on getting there around 8:30am(Dana said thats the time she usually gets there). Come on Vegas gals let's all get together and HAVE FUN!!!!!

Sweetheart if anyone needs to "find another hobby" it is obviously you, the one that doesn't seem to understand that the perfect example of one who has "alot of time on [their] hands" is the one that posts a rude and unnecessary reply simply because you choose to disagree with the information presented on an open discussion board. And for someone that states you have no problem with other doctors, you were quick to attack patients of Dr. Atkinson simply because you chose to disagree with the information presented here. So at this point, the best option for us is to agree to disagree and move forward. Best of luck to you.

 Hello!

I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully make some local friends.  My name is Lisa, I'm 40 and have researched, talked myself into surgery, scared myself out of surgery, convinced myself I could lose the weight on my own, and just gotten fatter for the last 10 years!  It was 2000 when I started reading Obesity Help, and now, I'm two weeks away from surgery!

Tomorrow I start my two week protein shake diet (to try to get in good shape for surgery, I'm guessing), and I'm currently taking a HUGE stack of pills a day to rid myself of H. Pylori before surgery as well.  I don't even want to SAY what the side effects of those pills are, but suffice it to say, it's not fun.

Anyway, my surgeon is Dr. Hanna.  I really like him, and I am excited/(still a bit nervous) about the future.  This will be a great year!

you obviously have alot of time on your handsby running your mouth the way you are. I am a patient of Dr. Rutledges 3 years post op and doing great I also have 8 family memebrs that have had surgery with him and are doing awesome.  We have no problem with other Dr.s and Dr. Rutledge does not go around saying negative things about other bariatric dr. You might want to find another hobby

It is sad that your friend passed because of a lack of education regarding her procedure. But you need to understand that my use of the color pink is because I like it and no other reason. I speak what I know to be the truth; however, you are entitled to your opinion and if that is where you haven chosen to place your trust then best of luck to you.
