Dr. Pearlstein in Catskill NY patients read this :-@
Renee:
 I am a patient of Dr. Pearlstein's as well and had surgery only last week, 6/5/06. At my follow up yesterday Linda gave me the news you mentioned. I too am upset over this. Yes, my surgery is done but I to know that a doctor as excellent as he is will be unavailable to others is devistating. I recommend remaining in touch with his office. You never know what events could occur to make it possible for him to practice bariatrics again, perhaps at another hospital? I know the love he and Linda have for treating patients in need of bariatric surgery, I'm sure it won't be long before they has a plan to continue what they love! In the mean time, research other possibilities and continue to get your pre-op testing completed.

Hi Renee,
I can only imagine how devastated you must be, but all is not lost. All of your testing should be transferable to another doctor. I used Dr. Artuso in Dobbs Ferry. I had a great experience with him. While switching doctors is not fun, at least there are options. Check out a few other surgeons and even call around and tell them what happened. I'm sure you will be welcomed by any surgeon out there. Try to find one you are comfortable with and move on with the process. Don't let this setback keep you from your goal.

Thanks Everyone, I'm pressing on.... I'm attending an information session with Dr. Fiallo in Springfield, MA next thursday, they will accept all tests and after the session I can schedule an appt with the Dr... I hope I can have the same confidence with him that I had with Pearlstein. If not onto the doctors at Albany Med.
Thanks for all the encouragement.
