obesity-related glomerulopathy?

Anyone hear of obesity-related glomerulopathy? During my physical, my Dr. found protein in my urine...enough to do further testing. I have to do a 24hr urine collection and I went for a renal ultrasound last night. Of course, having this wonderful tool called the internet, I was able to research until I was tuckered out. One of the things that came up in my search is obesity-related glomerulopathy..kidney disease caused by obesity. I was wondering whether problems with my kidneys might prevent me from getting surgery but I won't know that until I'm sure of what's going on. I think WLS would only help the dondition.
