Hello, I usually just lurk on here and read.......many posts have been extremely inspirational. Well, I got the call that I have been approved for the band. I am nervous, excited, hesitant, scared, etc........ I have never read anything negative in all the posts about Dr. Macura or his staff or Maimomidies Hospital which is very reassuring. Has anyone had a negative experience with the doctor or hospital? Thanks in advance for your responses, although I dont usually post - your past messages have been extremely insightful. Mike

Hey Mike, I am banded in Queens. Its been two weeks now. I have not regretted my decision once. Although extremely tired. I know this will pass. Good luck and welcome to the losing side. Hugs Susan

Hi MIke. Good luck to you. I myself used Dr. Ferzli, and had my surgery in Victory Memorial. Another lady who had surgery with Ferzli said she went to Macura first, and did not use him only because it was too long to wait for an appt. SHe said she had heard good things about him. I love Dr. Ferzli. YOu have to be the one who is comfortable with your surgeon. I am sure you have had the chance to meet with him.........what is your feeling about him? S

Hey Mike I lived in Brooklyn all my life (Brighton Beach). Just recently moved to Staten Island to be closer to my kids. Don't know much about your Doc but maimomides is an excellent hospital. I still take my kids to that hospital when needed. I am have LAP RNY in June at Staten Island University. I don't post much either basically because I am still pre-op and don't have much to add. Hopefully after June rolls along I will be a much more frequent poster and have tons to share. Good luck man all the best.

Hi BK, I live in SI, too, but had my surgery in Brooklyn with Dr. Ferzli. You will like this board. YOu should post anyway even though you are Pre-0p. So many people here are helpful and can let you know what has worked for them. I had my surgery last August, and have lost 101 pounds. I feel great! Let me know if you ever want to talk. Do you have an angel yet? I would be happy to volunteer. S
