Topic: Anyone from the Buffalo area?
I currently haggling with my insurance :) but planning on a 2/10/11 RNY at Buffalo General with Dr. Butsch.  Anyone else in the area have a surgery coming up or any post-ops with advice/insights about the BGH program from here on out?

Hi,
I also had my surgery at Arnot, almost a year ago. we have a support group that meets at the vestal library every 3rd Wednesday of the month 6:30-8pm. Because the office is closing this group will only meet up to august. The facilitator did say he will have a plan by august for our group to continue on somehow. We are definitely a fun bunch and no question is stupid and no topic sacred....LOL. Check it out sometime, the more the merrier.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have decided to go to Johnson City. I found out that Dr. Rahman will be practicing there and since he is the one I saw in the first place Im happy with this decision. Arnot has sent all my reports over to them and  I'm now waiting for them to go over them and set me up an appointment. Also I have decided that the lapband is the way that I want to go who cares if we have to apply over again to the insurance company. I feel this is the right one for me and I shouldnt have second guessed my choice all because of them approving me for the RNY. I hope to get to know all of you on my journey to a new me.

Topic: RE: Does anyone have United Healthcare in the WNY area??
HI, My name is Mary and I am from West Seneca. I am currently getting ready to see  Dr Alan Posner out of Sisters Hospital for bariatric surgery. I also have United Healthcare and he does take it. He has a very impressive record, having never lost a patient.  . He is very strict on the steps toward surgery, weight loss getting tests done etc, but once you do the things required of you the surgery is scheduled very quickly. I assume you had Dr Caruana, and Dr Posners reputation is pretty much along the same lines as Dr Caruana. I hope this helps. If you need anything else please let me know, Mary Keenen, [email protected]
